I have just bought a slow cookerGot the Morphy Richards 6.5l for £28 delivered, so browsing all the slow cooker threads so I can compile a new section in my household manual for when it arrives (latest Friday)
Currently have a sausage casserole and a lasagne in the oven (felt creative whilst making my tea of scampi and chips :rotfl: ) so should do us a few days of meals - which is a good job as I only have £10 left in the shopping budget to last until 24th  luckily OH is away on business for one of the weeks so that will save me money :rotfl:
Off to bed now - work again tomorrow0 -
Evening:j
Kids loved their tea apart from ds2! with his broccolli, made chicken and broccoli bake from the indexed collection and it was great, so yummy:D that will be a popular one:T
Made bread, cooling down just now, kids in bed, although ds1/ds2 came down saying the noise of the wind was making them dream of ghosts/monsters! really windy here tonight!
Everyone is in bed bar me, even dh, but he has to get up for work at 5:rotfl:

Hi Guys!
Havent done much posting today as I havent been too good! I have slept most of the day and taken goodness knows how many tablets:eek:    Actually, we have all had a easy day:D ..in between the easyness, there has been 2 washloads, DW emptied, DD's HW completed, some tidying and clearing of 3 drawers/paperwork done:p
DD went to her party and bought bag a fab party bag. The mum must have spent a fortune as she had a full size Lindt Extra Creamy choccie bar and a Green & Black one:eek:   ....there my favs:o so DD is giving them...I mean sharing them with me:D...she also got a lovely purse, fountain pen, note pad and large chunk of cake:j :j :j she also won a few nice bits...this mother must be mental:rolleyes:
I am hoping I will be well enough to go to my friends tomorrow. We have been invited out for a roast cooked by my dear friend. He is a fab cook and is doing lamb shanks and a chicken, so we have choices. DD is making a choc trifle in the morning and we have found some sponge that needs using. he has said if I cant make it, he will bring it round:beer: ...sorted!
Anyway, I have to go and have a cuppa with MY (ok's....dd's!) 2 bars of choccy:D
See ya

Spent most of today with six excitable 13 year old girls at pizza Hut and the cinema.
It was DD's birthday on Friday so we went to see "Night at the Museum".
Really enjoyed the film - probably because I got to rest my feet after all the walking around.
(((((Valentine))))).
Hugs to all who need them.
We take DD(21) back to uni tomorrow so thet will take up most of the day."This site is addictive!"

Hello everyone
Haven't read to the end of yesterday's thread but it is really inspirational for me, with two little children, to read the enormous warmth and love that people have in their 'voices' when they talk about their kids, and the things they have done for them. Will try to read the rest of it now if I get time.
Valentine, big hugs to you. I lost my granny last year, and I think about her so much, especially now I'm at home, looking after the babies and keeping house Old Style. I feel like she's with me all the time as I know that most of what I know, from how to make a birthday cake, to the songs I sing my kids at bedtime, came from her
Hum......... sure I am going to forget someone. Happy Birthday Lillibet, and welcome to Thule, I'm new here too and I'm loving it.
Took the boys down to feed the ducks this morning, freezing wind blowing in from the sea so we ended up in a cafe buying coffees - £8 for three of us  Stupidly I let DH jump out at the shop to pick up some stuff for lunch and he came back with........drumroll..........crocodile burgers, from the South African shop! I've decided to write off those, along with his other purchases, from my groceries challengeHe also flushed the upstairs loo about 5 minutes after I'd put the vinegar down it to try and descale it, so my OS efforts have been thwarted today!
Very excited as we have been planning our holiday and think we can pay quite a chunk using Clubcard vouchers
Just relaxing with a glass of wine, then going to put on my first attempt at a home made Easiyo mix - I know I said I would do it yesterday but DH and I shared our first bottle of wine of the new year and I ended up too tipsy to be bothered. That man is richest whose pleasures are cheapest. HAPPY BIRTHDAY LILLIBET
21 and 132 months isn't it
Hope Spud's head gets better soon.
Frustrating afternoon/evening...
Dad has been over to put my curtain rails up. Every time he drills a hole in my pristine newbuild walls I feel like he's dangling my only child over a cliff edgeLOL
The rail in the bedroom went up no problem, but the one in the living room he spent 2 hours trying to put up 1 support - the rawlplug wouldn't "take" - and that was AFTER he had to go back out to B&Q for the right sort of rawlplug after he realised I have cavity walls. So I now have one single solitary curtain-pole support hanging limply from my wall, waiting for Dad to come back tomorrow with a third type of rawlplug, which will hopefully be "magic" and stay put... This means I have to come straight home from church, which on the plus side means I can't spend any moneyand on the minus side means I can't check out the Sunday afternoon yellow stickers (the best kind!) at Mr T's, or try to buy a bike...
Anyway at least he tried... and he enjoyed my SC lemon chicken
He's now gone and I've hoovered up the plaster dust from the drill.
Now snuggling on sofa with the TV and a glass of White Russian (kahlua/vodka/milk/ice)

Currently sat curled up on the sofa feeling quite smug!! :rotfl: turned down going out tonight into town as I really can't afford it... opted for a night in and a bottle of co-op £2.99 wine of the week. It's howling a gale and bucketing it down outside so think i've probably made the right chioce, not only saved on drink and a taxi, but i'm warm and dry!!! :rotfl:
Hope the rest of you are having a good night

Hugs, Valentine.
Hi Thule, I am new here too, and it's a great place.:j
It's been a busy day here, I had to brave the shops and buy my sister's family their Christmas presents as we are having our get-together tomorrow. I ended up paying a lot, as panic started to set in:eek: I love them to bits, so don't mind, but I will have to be a lot more organised for this Christmas coming and budget throughout the year.
I've also made some more biscuits and cooked the brisket, but I couldn't find my Slow Cooker Instruction Book so I had to roast it in the oven instead; I think I will be back on Moggin's F Lady Thread next week!
One thing, I went into the local library and picked up a book on knitting to give me inspiration, an embroidery book using William Morris designs and a large book of Mozart Piano Sonatas, so I am now feeling happy.
DH is kindly wrapping up the presents for me, so I will go and make him a cup of tea.
I haven't had chance to read all the earlier posts yet, so will go back and read them shortly.
Take care

We have a newbuild too and can't get *anything* to stay in the walls. H put up a chain on the door to try and stop DS1 and his friends from escaping during playdates () - well, it lasted all of five seconds, one of DS's little friends (we are talking 2 year olds!) opened the door and the chain just slid out of the wall and was hanigng there :rotfl: Hope your dad has more luck!
Is the SC lemon chicken in the index? Off to look.
