GF and me made a wicked veggie shepherds pie from scratch tonight. Still have enough left for another two meals. Was going to cook a rhubarb and apple crumble, but we were full. Still that is ok for another night.
It was quite enjoyable, the two of us making this stuff.
A tip: if there are two of you cooking, try cooking a meal while singing a made up opera. It passes the time, and really cuts the tension.
e.g.
Lady: Have you sliced the beans?
Man: Oh yes I have
Lady: Oh no you've not
Man: Oh yes I have
Lady: Oh no you've not
Man: Yes I have
Lady: No you've not
Man: Have
Lady: Not
Man: Have
Lady: not

Happy Birthday Lillibet I hope your dinner party went well.
Welcome Thule & anybody else that jumped in today.
Didn't have the best sleep last night. It stayed pretty humid. We were up bright and early today to try and get a few things done before the heat set in. I feel like a dead duck already and it's 8.30am.Me thinks it's going to be a long day.
Rzl I hope your dad gets your curtain rod to stay put. By what Spiddy says, the job sounds challenging. What are pictures like to hang etc?
Well I could chatter on but I really must fly. My plans for today are.........packing & moving.Hope you get a good nights sleep & your wind problems settle down.

Evening to anyone who's left as most seem to have taken to their beds (lucky devils).
Well finished the kitchen table and guess what......I've discovered a lovely pine table underneath all the junk. Wonder how long it'll stay junk free???
Sicky dog seems much better. DH took her for a wee walk and she ate a little food. She's still not right but a nights sleep will hopefully help.
I have to finish the kitchen tomorrow (some cupboards and the floor) and I'm quite looking forward to it - just how sad is that?
Have watched Harry Potter, Soap Superstars (and I'm sorry but Hayley should have won!!!!!!) and CSI and drunk a few cans of lager.
The winds picked up and we've had some sleet (I really wish it would snow (heavy so I don't have to go to work)).
Well I think I might go to bed so goodnight all.

Morning Aussie, hope the packing and moving goes well, I'm just hoping the weather picks up tomorrow, want to take the kids with me for a long walk tomorrow with the dogs, so fingers crossed, not going to tempt fate and look at the forecast.
Well I've got quite a lot done, need a quick sweep of the floors and mop (already vacuumed but dogs still in) then bed time. Got very little sleep last night because of the wind and feel rather shattered. One day I might be more organised...........

No, the lemon chicken I did is not specifically in the OS index, though there are some v. similar recipes there
I chopped 2 onions, 4 cloves of garlic, fried 8 chicken thighs for 5 mins in butter, added all to slow cooker, de-glazed the frying pan with white wine and chucked that in the SC too, then just left it all on low for about 6 hrs...
