Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Saturday 13th Jan 2007. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well
Morning ! Hope we are all well
Well - its taken me nearly an hour to catch up with yesterday's daily thread, I really did miss out on some debates. Sorry I wasn't around to join in at the time.
But firstly, I want to offer DLB a big:T and (((hugs))) for telling us about her DS2.
I remember going through the discussions (over the fence) ref "what to do" "when's the right time to tell him" etc, My heart went out to them all, not only for DLB & DH, but for the other children, as they'd be asking a lot of questions.
When she told me the outcome, I cried! They all took it really well, DS2 especially. From what I can see, (outside looking in), I cant see by him knowing has change him in anyway. IYSWIM
Yes moggins, I totally agree, DLB is an amazing friend and neighbour to have. And a super mum to add to that.
Put it this way, there's not many people I would go and fetch fags for at 11.50pm on a Friday night, in my pyjama's. I just threw my jeans on and coat, who cares!
Roz-v, so sorry about your sister's school friend. After reading your thread, it sounds like you and your mum got every angle covered. Its great that you are there for her.
ccstar, totally agree ref BB, as much as I love it, its getting rather silly now. I didn't know Leo Sayer walked till, Davina announced it on channel 4. :T
Moggins, hope DD is feeling better after yesterday's episode, Did the nurse ring you back?
Joannasmum hope your DD managed to settle down for you and that DH is talking to you now. You are not alone in this situation, Ive been there before. And Ive also done your hubby's trick before now, leaving him with the baby and Ive gone out.
I spent all Friday evening making sample wedding invites for my mum for her wedding. They are really nice (if I say so) and very elegant looking also, if she doesn't like them, then she can buy her own!
Ive still not got round to ironing the bedding ready to change, can do that when I get up. Just a general tidy up and clean where its needed. Plan to chill out as much as I can. This week as really taken its toll on me, and I feel totally shattered (plus its that time of the month soon - so everything aches)
OH took off to bed with the face on again when I fetched the fags earlier. "Bovvered" :rotfl:
Anyway, what ever your plans are, have a lovely weekend
Take care & love as usual xxx

Hello everyone!
Hello crazychick!
Had no internet Thursday, and today was DGS's day so didn't get on until midnight. Tried to catch up with yesterday's thread, but OMG it's taken over an hour to skim it!!!!!
DLB you should be so proud of your whole family!:D
Roz-v So sorry for the girl in your sister's class. Really rotten for all concerned. Try not to worry too much about your sister, I'm sure with the level of support she has there really is no risk she'd do anything silly. But how awful that anyone should feel that life was so worthless. Her poor parents must be totally devestated.
Not having an internet connection meant I had a very tidy house by Thursday evening!:rotfl: I really must get a life and avoid this board more:rolleyes:
However having DGS for the day has put us back a bit! Well maybe more than a bit! How does one three year old create so much mess and mayhem?
We did do lots of "crafty" things today, and attempted a tidy-through of the toybox. Seems to have made a ton of mess!:rotfl:
Glad to hear you've finally nabbed the plumber Aussie!! I began to wonder if he was a figment of your imagination:rotfl: Hope DD's car doesn't cost too much ( after she's done her bit with the packing of course!!)
Well I suppose it's way past the time I should be in bed, hopefully I'll manage to get on later. but if I don't hope you all have good weekends! And Aussie get packing!! There's lots to do and little time to do it.
Penny-Pincher!! Thanks for the heads-up, can't believe the bargains I've got at the penninsula since I've kept my eyes open! Tonight I picked up quite a bit, but had to be careful since my freezer is not that big, and is pretty full!:D Got some Duck breasts for tomorrow's dinner 99p for 2!!! Got DSs and their girlfriends up so picked up 3 packs!! Will look like I'm being quite indulgent, don't intend boasting about my bargain too much:rolleyes: Also got some heavily reduced blueberries, so will do an apple and blueberry cobbler for dessert.:D Felt quite miffed I had to pay full price for the bramleys:rotfl:
Anyway, all take care and ((((hugs))) to those that need them. ( In my fast skim read apologies if I've missed any important news)

Hi everyone, :hello:
I had a busy evening at work tonight, just logged in to take a peek at the boards and got sidetracked by the end of yesterdays daily thread.
Donna, you sound like an amazing person and a fantastic parent!
Roz-v, It must have been a terrible shock for your sister. I'm sure that having you, caz and your parents support will really help her.
Joannasmum, I think we've all been there. Being a parent is one of the most rewarding but hardest jobs on earth.
Has anyone heard from Valentine?
Well, do you remember the bedroom drawers I was going to sort out? I didn't! I managed to do two and got bored.I'll have to try to do better tomorrow. If the worst comes to the worst I can toddle over to the flylady challenge and ask moggins to sort me out.
I was hoping for a phonecall to tell me that the under 14's rugby match was cancelled on Saturday morning because the pitch was waterlogged. Sadly the phonecall never came, so I'll be spending the morning on the sidelines getting soggy and blown to bits.
Apart from the rugby we have nothing much planned, so I think once we've all dried off we'll light the fire and have a cosy day at home. and maybe I'll do another drawer or two.
Have a good day everyone.

Hi everyone,
DH & I have just come home to have a afternoon chill out. It's way too hot to working in this heat. Will start back after the worst is over. The plumber has been and gone. He's about 85% completed and finishing off on Monday morning. I had to make another rescue dash into town as he needed another connection for the loo. This was before he decided he had to come back Monday. So practically a morning wasted.
OS has a toothache again but I told him to get himself over here tomorrow toothache or not. Plans for the next couple of days........packDid I tell you how hot is here atm.
Jan/Feb is the worst months. Well off to [strike]hog[/strike] share the fan in the bedroom.

Still loved, still missed and very dear
Our thoughts are ever with you,Though you have passed away. And those who loved you dearly,

Morning all, evening Aussie! Up early - not sure why! Been sleeping pretty well, so feel well rested this morning.
Roz - (((((hugs))))) to you and your sister.
Bought some smoked mackerel from the fish market. Delish! We went to the farm shop on the way home. It's been extended, and was really good. Lovely fresh veg (for a veggie chilli tomorrow) - big carrier for £4.50!
We found a car yesterday :T . Year old Fiesta, so apart from the last bit of haggling, should have it by next week :j Best news was that I didn't get grumpy once (we both hate buying cars   )and DH took me out for lunch
Children off swimming at 7:30. One of us will take them and have a quiet hour reading a book, the other will clean the floor, do ironing, and hoover the stairs. Now which do I fancy :rolleyes2
DD's having her hair done and DS is off to footie. Home match, but a hard one against a side from West Yorks.
If we manage to sort the car, we're off to the pictures, then a meal out.
Hope everyone has a great day, Penny. x:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -
Morning all
An early start here too as kids start back at swimming. DD2 is meant to go up a group, but although she's only 5, they are all at either 6.30pm-7 and we live 25 minutes from the pool, or this morning's is at the same time as her dancing lesson  So we are going to see if she can stay in the same group, just doing harder work, if that's how to describe it
After swimming is aforementioned dancing classes, so I'm on a scoot round town. Last week I got some jeans in M&S sale. In fact I got 2 pairs of trousers, both the same size. One fits fine, the other nowhere nearso will have to go back there and try to swap them.
Then have a man coming to look at the roof which seems to have a bit of a leak. DH has squeezed into the loft for a look, but the access hatch is tiny (no way would I fit through it lol) so someone is coming with a scaffolding tower. Oh what a fun day :rotfl:
Have a good one everyone
