  • Yup, thanks to the media scaremongering, everyone is a !!!!!phile. What fun times we live in.
One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.

  • I am 19 and I see the lack of caring these days. Everytime a child falls I jump even if the parent is already there and wouldnt hesitate to go help a child otherwise.

Reminds me of a friends granny who fell last christmas AND NOT ONE of the many cars that drove past stopped to help a old lady with a broken arm and lieing on the floor.

Really does make me sad. I suppose the only hope I have is that I shall bring up any children I have in the future to always put themselves before others
  • I imagine InjuryLawyer4U will soon bring out an advert where you can sue the person who helped you after an accident.
'til the end of the line
  • Sorry, but this is an issue which really really winds me up. There has been NO increase in the number of child abductions/attacks in the last countless years. And the vast majority of attacks are by family members. The chance of a child abduction by a stranger is pathetically small and no different than it was 10, 20, 50, or 100 years ago.

It's the bloody media that pick up on anything and make a massive case out of it telling us that we aren't safe in our own homes.

What have we had in the last 20 years or so.

The big one - Maddie McCann - in another country so to be blunt, it doesn't count (though the parents probably did it etc etc)

Jamie Bulger - done by kids. Doesn't count

Shannon Matthews - family member. Doesn't count

Megan Russell - stranger who attacked a child whilst with their parent. Doesn't count

Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman - wasn't a stranger. Doesn't count.

And then there's the one that started it all off

Sarah Payne - This is probably the only one in the last 20 years where it's a case of a stranger taking a child.

I apologise if I come off as "making light" of the tragedies above, but my point is only one of the cases of child abduction/murder etc in the last 20 years is a stranger.

Playing the odds, it's safer to let your child out on the street alone than it is to leave them with an uncle. Yet we are browbeaten into the "EVERY IS A PERVERT" mindset thanks to the media.

I don't know how people can walk past a kid who's been hurt and is bleeding. You'd think they'd at least stop and ask him if he needs any assistance, even if they're reluctant to actually physically help him up again.
  • And it's all based on unfounded and untrue perceptions. It's pathetic.

The worst are the "Kyle mums" as I call them. Hell, even Mrs H is like that lol
