  • Daft as it sounds, it could just have been a prank gone wrong, and not really meant maliciously. I know thats cold comfort, but its better than thinking it was done to cause real harm x

Beth; what a horrible thing to happen. I'd feel like storming up there and ripping someone's head off. The police really ought to know, do you think the hospital that your DD's friend went to might inform some authority. This person should be stopped, if they get away with it who knows what they might try next time.
All love to you and your DD.

Thanks MONNAGRAN, I also want to kill the person who did it.. ..but ... I'm a pacifist and I'd fight anyone who sais I'm not.:D

JG, having worked in the NHS for 26 years I answer to anything, and most of the names are extremely derogatory, if at least amusing!
With those symptoms it could be as simple as soap, don't worry too much just now! And it was possibly meant as some sort of prank, seriously misguided but nontheless probably not malicious I hope!

    ???? Ehhm a prank

A PRANCK, oh yes pranks are meant to be funny aren't they ? Try Googling the meaning of the word.
As you have said you have been in the NHS for 26 yrs I would have thought that you would know that SOAP doesn't burn the thoat, make you sick, give headaches, any worries for a pregnent woman etc. But who am I to disagree, I'm only a very worried Mum without your excellent nursing experience.

Actually some soap will do so, but excuse me for suggesting it! I know you are worried, as I would be if it was my daughter or son, I was only trying to suggest it may not be a life threatening toxic poison! And my debatably "excellent" experience is by the by if some eejit thinks its funny to put something in another person's drink!
And just to put my knowledge into perspective, I dont work in A&E, I work in mental health where some clients have eaten and drunk all sorts of wierd things!

I wonder if some twit has tried to clean the kettle? It's been done before (my cousin did it) and someone may not realise that anything put in a kettle is nearly impossible to remove without a lot of washing (and in our case a lot of fairy liquid bubbles, sigh). I would have thought coffee would be hard to doctor, milk likewise, but if someone had a go at descaling the kettle....

    Hope they're all ok anyway.

p.s. I said twit because if I said what I was really thinking I'd get banned.

    Hi Everyone

Just couldn't read and run, I was thinking the same thing Cranky. But just wanted to say I am sending positive for your DD Beth.

Sorry not been around much, but time seems to be flying at the moment, and need to get organised for getting off to Spain again next week.

((hugs)) to all. Take care DG
