Sorry to hear about everyone's child/adolescent woes. I don't have any myself, but I get a new crop of 17/18 yo students soon. There are so many things i don't understand about them, and there is only a 10 year age gap, can't imagine what it will be like when I'm a parent:eek:

FairyPrincess - I know exactly what you mean, I'm a youth worker/teacher for 16-25 year olds and sometimes they baffle me and I'm only 29! :rotfl:

Well...........I have a new car :j (thanks Beth for the positive thoughts!). Well I get it on Friday :D It's a red Suzuki Swift 1.3 GL. I got a good deal, most online are £4-4.5K for that age, I got it for £3750 with new tax, mot, service and part ex'ing my shed ;). I just want it NOW!! :rotfl:

Unfortunatly I feel like sh!te today, didn't sleep well, was worrying bout the car and work stuff. I'm also coming down with something, my glands are massive :(. Was meant to be going to cinema with flatmate tonight but I've cancelled cos I just want my bed.

    Bu88er all OS here today.

    Have a good evening all

    Argh just lost my post!

Summery - Hugs/thoughts/happy birthdays where appropriate.

Jac - thanks for that wonderful idea! Something i am going to do this week :) I can add to it too as if we're flush again before winter sets in.

Work was good today, Just waiting for my water to heat up and then i'm having a bath, before heading out to sainsbobs to 1. get a gift card, 2. take advantage of their half price cookware. then home to make dinner, lunches for tomorrow and chill out on the sofa. No way are we going out tonight, I want an evening at home (mostly so i can watch my 'boyfriend' as OH refers to him Rhod Gilbert in Worlds Most Dangerous Roads)

Got some free apples from a lady at work today, going to use them for a crumble for sunday lunch.

I assume i'll be off and on all evening

    Evening all,

Little cooler this morning but more pleasant, no wind or rain.

Have been rather busy to-day....hospital clinic with OH this morning, home to hang out washing and put on dogs' bed, that is now out on line, will take it in this evening as hate it to get wet again.

While out, spotted some damsons....€1.99 per 8 ozs, bought ( well, OH did) 2 packs and made myself a nice pot of jam when I came home...very expensive jam but haven't seen damsons for sale for years so decided they were worth it....jam is lovely and will be strictly rationed to make sure that I get most of it!

Peeled and sliced some apples for the dehydrator, which is now working its magic, boiled skins, cores etc and have just turned that mix out to drip overnight for jelly....haven't done it with peelings before so not sure how it will go.

Have been invited to coffee morning to-morrow, so made apple cake to take and some Twinks as well....realised when I took them out that I had forgotten to flatten them so did it then....not the most elegant you have ever seen but taste ok ( sorry Twink, please forgive me, hope that you are well, we miss you).

OH is having an antipasto dinner....salami, cheese, olives etc so not cooking dinner, just had a chicken sandwich and will have something else to fill me up a bit....start back to swimming to-night so will be cream crackered by the time I get home!

Candy....sorry to hear that normal reception has been restored with your daughter!

To all of you with teenagers....you have my sympathy, when mine were that age I used to think that the old Irish custom of fostering was a wonderful idea.....people did a child swap for several years, always found teens to be better behaved in other peoples house than they were at home. It does pass and you will be glad that you didn't run away or strangle them when things were tough!

Congratulations on the new motor Flutterby...only had one red car and it was the best one ever, so hope that you will have the same luck with yours.

Good luck with the saving for your car Hester, hope it doesn't take too long to get there.

Glad to hear that your Grandad is home Bramble.

Sorry to hear that some of you are not feeling too well, get well soon.

JackieO...don't go mad with that iron.

JackieG....cheer up chuck....suppose that BIL feels that it will make no difference to him now whether he smokes or not....know what you mean about children, but he may not be seeing things too clearly if he is in so much pain....hugs to all

Ruby...Dad is obviously very tired...tough on you all at present, glad that college is going well for DD.

Head gone, sorry folks if I have missed anyone out, really think that senior moments are becoming more frequent....what's that all about then???

Hugs to all in need or want of one, stay safe and well everybody

I just had the best shopping trip at sainsbobs!

My shop should have cost £44.07 and i paid £22.03 - half price! including 2 of these
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sistema-Klip-Salad-Go-1376-1/dp/B0057WDIO6 for £1.79 each instead of £5.99!
    Great for our lunches

Also got 4 ramekins (with reduced chocolate pots inside them already ;) ) for £2.30 instead of £7

    and a chili plant!

This is why me having a car when OH is working late is bad - i keep going to see what whoopsied things I can get!

Evening everyone, long time no post again, I always read, but don't really have a lot to say!

Another one here who relates to the teenage thing, I am going through it again  I was sorta lucky in that when mine went to college they moved in with their Dad as he lived in the same town as college and they came back to me at weekends as guests :rotfl:I did still have all the probs though, albeit sometimes only over the phone speaking to ex and saying Oh dear, really? blimey :rotfl:Although saying that I think 13 - 16 is the worst age. Well for girls anyway, DS wasn't really that much of a prob....apart from downloading a dialer (in the days of dial up internet( that took me to a !!!!!! site! he blamed his mate, I shouted at both of them, said mate was a good foot taller than me and cowered in the corner saying please don't tell my dad. I grounded both of them, well mate had to come round to ours every night for a week and they both had to do little jobs for me :D house was sparkling.

Going through it the 2nd time isn't so easy, especially when she's not your own, was ignored all last weekend apart from when she wanted to borrow a brush and a tshirt, both of which seem to have gone home with her! Catered for her for Sunday tea as she said she would be here, then told, naaaa mum's taking me out for a meal to celebrate me buying my car, ho hummm.

OS wise, stuck slow cooker on this morning with a load of bendy carrots, a handful of lentils, tin of toms, stock cube and water, half a tsp of chilli powder and have a really nice soup!

Hugs to all who want or need

cyas soon (well maybe :D) I will try to post most days again!
whoever said laughter was the best medicine has clearly never tasted wine
