They have to have low headline prices to grab those who wouldn't normally want to travel to places like Weeze and then catch them out if they break the rules.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

Well hot dog. I'll have to keep an eye on this and see if that's just the ticket. Prepaid Mastercards aren't dead yet folks.:T0

I believe that the implementation has been a rush job and was a week late, and I don't believe it has been rolled out anywhere other than the default ryanair.com/en website.
I have got a Neteller card which is registered to another country and I reckon that Ryanair's terms and conditions as presented to that country have not been altered - there is no notification to them of any change.
I also have a Neteller card registered to a UK address.
I expect to continue to be able make fee-free payments on both cards actually beyond 31st October 2011 simply by using the default Ryanair website of a non UK country. The vast majority of them are in English so no problemo :money:
Those of you who have already have prepaid Mastercards who been herded like sheep into swapping allegiances and already committing to the new card might like to comment.
I don't expect this will work at all - rather, I'm pretty sure that this new charging regime will apply to all Ryanair flights departing from the UK (including return journeys), regardless of which country version of the Ryanair website you initially use.
At present, regardless of which country version of the site you use, flights are always presented in the local currency - so if you use the Irish version at ryanair.com/ie, flights leaving the UK are still shown in £ pounds sterling and not in €uros - likewise if you use the UK/ Irish/ French or other country versions, flights departing from Poland are still shown in Polish zloty / PLN, rather than in £ pounds or €uros- in other words, flights are charged according to their departure point, not which country version of the Ryanair website you look at to begin with.
The hope that this new charging regime can be avoided simply by using another country version of the Ryanair website is just wishful thinking! Perhaps travelrepublic.co.uk will remain a way of avoiding Ryanair's card fees (for return flights from the UK).0 -

Ryanair can hardly then introduce it from thin air for those users on the payment page now can they?0 -
I think it's terrible that some people will have to pay £12 or 12 euro's to fly across Europe in a £70,000,000 plane instead of £6 or 6 Euro's just because they have to pay the card fee.
What a rip-off !!!
Err actually the difference is the cost of a pint in Dublin.0 -
Seventy million quid, and with no recliners? He'll not have paid quite that much, to be sure
And I don't think so many people will be paying extra fees come the end of the month, do you Bob? All they'll have to do is choose a different national Ryanair homepage from the dropdown list at top right of the default frontpage before they book with their old Mastercard prepaid, eh?0 -
That's a wait and see 2sides.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

Yep, I can hardly wait - 12 more days and then we'll see what he dares do this time, and how the Keystone Kops respond0
