Hi gilligansyle,
I didn't see your previous diary but paying £15K in two years is a great achievement. :T
Just wanted to write about the screening by the way...Yesterday, I went to a conference arranged by my company. They actually subcontracted a private health company to come and give us a conference about breast cancer. We are given a choice to be checked, regardless of our ages.
During the conference, I learnt that NHS also offers screening to ladies who are over 55 years old. I don't know how old are you but, if you are over 55 and invited to an appointment, it is pretty good thing because there is a post code enigma attached to those screenings...It is better to be get checked then sorry . I hope you can make to the appointment...Take care xDon't forget smiling:):)

Hi and thanks for posting.
It's more the daft way they work that is annoying me. In our area anyone over 50 is invited to go. But you get the invite and they assume you can make it. When you ring them up, you can't re-arrange, they just send another appointment out. It seems a needless waste of resources to me.
This could carry on for months! I work all over the country, I can't make the appointment they sent me, I will be in London on that date and the chances of me being around for the next one are slim too.
They only release the dates for 3 - 4 weeks ahead.
Stupid system if you ask me:(, and for someone who doesn't *do* nhs stuff it only takes something like that for me to spit my dummy out and chuck my dolly out of the pram:pand decide not to play.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

On another matter entirely - I've just been *tweaking* DS cv for him and have been amazingly creative.
He now lists customer care, assertiveness, communications in the workplace, and health and safety in the workplace (among others) all listed separately on his CV.
The reason? He refused to let me put the single line of NVQ level 2 - Static and Patrol Guarding ( in other words he has an NVQ in car parking :rotfl:)Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Hi Gill - your health is important tho so hope you do manage to go....
I bet you'll be glad to get home and put your feet up! Make your DS wait on you I think would be the order of the day or should I say weekend LOLAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Morning all
Well I got home last night and just flaked out!
As it turned out yesterday, although I stayed in a hotel in Slough, I was actually going to Windsor, near the college, rather than near the Castle - apparently its the other side of the river. So I got to see them marching the guard out of Victoria barracks, so that made a bit of a change.
But then I had the joys of the M40, M42 and M6!
I had intended to leave earlier because of Friday traffic, but it wasn't to be. My satnav told me it would take 4 hours (which is always wrong because it doesn't allow for Birmingham!) but even going on the M6 toll -the cost is worth the time saving - it still took over 5 hours to get home!
Chippy tea, and then just did nothing.
Today, we are going to check what the charity people have left behind at Mum's house, and work out what to do with it. If its small stuff, we can put it in our cars and take it somewhere, but if there's anything big we'll just have to leave it behind and 'act daft'
DS has been taking his CV around places, in some ways its easier because he can ask if they have 'back room' jobs; he doesn't want to work with customers. Hopefully something will come of that.
Well, they've sent me another appointment..... even though I asked them not to, and I'm already booked out for that date. And just in case people think I can re-arrange these visits, generally they follow a set schedule, so if I don't go on a certain date, then the next part of the project can't happen etc.
Please don't worry about me and my health DT - I don't! There is health insurance through work, when I've been here 3 months I am eligible to join it, but as a socialist, it sort of goes against the grain to pay for something the NHS should provide.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0
