  • ...and it gets worse!

When you ring, you can't re-arrange an appointment, they send a new one out to you!
The chances of the appointment coinciding with a day I'm in Liverpool are extremely slim, so it was far easier to tell them to take my name off the list and not send another one out.

But what a silly system! Most people would need to re-arrange things in order to fit it in, surely there must be a better way.

    Back to work:D

This is a stupid way of doing things

BUT Please reconsider taking your name off the list my sister's breast cancer was only found because she went for a screening and she was lucky they found it when they did she still had to have the full gamut of treatments to zap the thing

so please, please think about it remember it doesn't just happen to someone else I am thinking Taxi here and a daughter of a friend of mine sorry to nag but I will be worried about you I know after the scare with my sister I was pleased to get my appointment whereas before I too might have been a bit cavalier about it

Glad to see you have done well this week and staying in too posh a hotel is quite a nice problem to have :D

    Take care

  • Hi, its more that each time they will send a new appointment out, and then you have to cancel it.

A really odd way to do things.

    Don't worry about me please.

    Hi Gill
Long time no speak. I'm so sorry to hear about your poor Mum, I'm thinking of you x

However, it's brilliant news that you now have a permanent job! :T You have been so resilient through the tough times, so you truly deserve the odd cheeky night in a posh hotel. Good for you.

Please listen to DT, better to be safe and all that...Take care xx

Gill, you have done so well. As to grief, I do find that with me it keeps re-surfacing. This may be because I have a bit of a problem with feelings - they do not come put as full blown vulcano bur bubble for a long time, then an almost pitiful eruption and so on. So, let it out if you can.

  • I've managed to do *some* work today, but connectivity is seriously a problem. I spent over an hour on the phone to virginmedia who kept telling me it was my companies fault; how come most other people don't have problems then? I've since taken the laptop to a *nearby retail outlet* and managed to connect whilst sat in the car park. So its definitely the router. Going to borrow a router to see if it makes a difference before going out and buying one.
Fish and chips for tea tonight.

Hope you manage to get the connectivity sorted.

I would be as irritated as you about not being able to just ask for the appointment you want - but agree with DT and others that it is really important to go

Damn, that router is losing you a lot of time! I hate it when companies try to shift the blame. I hate all call centres .... oops.

Hope you can have something of a weekend. How's DS?

  • Morning

I've done some research and it is a particular router issued by virginmedia that causes the problem; but the ****** at virginmedia kept going through the same script and then saying 'there is connectivity, so the problem is with your company system' - I went online with a vodafone dongle and a virginmedia one, and connected each time, but can I connect on my 50meg broadband. Nope!
    Back to googling!

Today I am doing the rounds of the charity shops taking Mum's stuff; she had some brand new things, which we'll try and take somewhere else; charity is coming in the week to take the furniture, so at least its not just going on a tip.

This weekend is more sort of back to normal, so will do shopping, and ironing and I really must get this house tidied. Someone in work gave me some baking apples, so a crumble is called for I think.
DS has applied for a few jobs this week so he is in a better frame of mind.

*Some * good news in there, at least .... I guess a trawl around the charity shops *donating* stuff could leave you with something of a positive feeling, too. Crumble .... I have some apples I picked off a local tree on the table - must do something with them tonight ....

  • There is an area near us - where I met DT - that has (at the last count) 14 charity shops!

So we thought it fairer to take something to each.
