I wish I could menu plan, but as I'm away so much its not practical. I just need to make sure there is easy stuff for DS to cook, pizza's, burgers or soups. If I'm around, he will cook, but is scared of getting distracted if he's in the house on his own.
If I was only feeding myself, I could do it on far less!
Off to Cornwall tomorrow, so will do some admin stuff in the morning, and take some sandwiches with me. Eat in the hotel, breakfast on Wednesday, then eat in services on way home.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

I make sure I have basics - pasta, rice, oats, cashew nuts, beans of various sort, lentils, frozen veg of various sorts, spices and flavourings of various sorts - my "cookery", such as it is, consists of throwing together combinations of that stuff
often in one pot :j
Cornwall! I'd say enjoy, but you don't see anything of the great places you go to, do you.... stay safe, then.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
I have lots of basic stuff, was in Mr A the other day and saw the pesto, they had lots of the red one, but no green. Handy stuff to have in. If I was cooking for myself I would just eat variations on roasted veg and jacket spud, or pasta and tomato sauce.
Have just been chatting on FB to a friend I used to work with. A few years ago, she had to have a leg amputated, and is now back in hospital, having just had the other one removed. And she's worried about not being home in time for Christmas!Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Oh giligan your poor chum, I hope she does get home.
Cornwall today? Travel safe.
Lots in the store cupboards here but given a choice ds would live on pizza and no other foods!

Off to Cornwall later, and have Appr0ved f00ds delivery coming today, mainly soft drinks which were on offer, and some bread flour and a couple of treats. Have to work it out carefully to see if its worth it. This time, it was, because the soft drinks were SUCH a bargain; mixed fruit in a branded bottle £1 for 4 bottles. Have to be used by end of Jan, so that's fine. Also branded fizzy cola type drink for DS; can be expensive, but its the only thing he drinks, so get it when I can.
I'll try to get to the hospital to see friend on Thursday, otherwise will see her when she gets home.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Three things have made me happy today:-
My new boots arrived - warm, dry feet, that won't slip if it gets ice, and have the added advantage of being 'Trimsoles'.
My dining room is nearly finished
and
Simon Mayo had the Wombles on his programme. 'wombling merry christmas' took me back nearly 30 years. Just made me smile. Despite the torrential rain on the M5.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0
