Thats a great idea! If I was doing it now, I'd take an mp3 recorder, or make a video on my camera or something too.

As for the M25 - its not called the circular car park for nothing! Hope you had a good night's sleep anyway xxx

  • Fantastically lovely hotel, last night; tonight, bog standard Best Western. It was different to be in a hotel that wasn't part of a chain. I've driven 40 miles across London to get here, it only took 2 and a half hours;)
Have just had a cup a soup as I CBA with having to brush my hair to go to
    the restaurant.
I've been lurking on other diaries tonight, and am now going to log off and do some cross stitch!

    Have a good evening.

  • Morning
    :j
how nice is it to sleep in your own bed

So far, washing machine is on, bread maker is on. Must seriously do some tidying as away a fair bit in the run up to Christmas, so need to keep on top of it.

Money stuff - got my expenses money back so should be OK now until payday. Have submitted next lot of expenses and when they come through, I'm going to do some juggling.

Very confused about bank account. Having had a letter telling me that they are changing t&c's for my little account I use all the time, so I can only get cash out at banks cash machines, I now have an email saying they are automatically upgrading the account. But the reason I have it is because it doesn't have charges and it has no overdraft facility.

    So plans for today

Local shops - butchers, greengrocers, little Iceland and little Asda.
Walk to bank and see if anyone can help - isn't Saturday opening marvellous:p:p
Charitising - also some other stuff for the clothes weighing place.
Take photos of cross stitching - quite proud of some of my little cards.
    Tidy dining room
    Hoovering
Carpet cleaner - one room - maybe dining room
    Sort out freezer
    Make cakes :D

then later, catch up with friend, eat some cake and have some wine.

  • I hope you have a lovely day, and enjoy the cake making! Glad you got the expenses back - good luck with the bank - I dunno if we have saturday opening here, that sounds rather handy.
Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
    minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:
    :money:Sleeves up folks.:money:

I'm glad to see friend, cake and wine at the end of that list!

As to the bank, hmmm, might the upgrade be, dunno, giving you an overdraft even if you don't want one? My current account always had an overdraft, £1000, and then they put it down to £500 and started sending me updates on it every six months - mad, with all the policy changes, they cost themselves loads by doing it, and I've only used it once, for £4 for one day ... banks are really crazy.

Anyway - have a good one! I bet the house smells lovely with the bm on :)
2023: the year I get to buy a car
  • Have had a quiet, pottery weekend.

The person on reception at the bank was as confused as I was, as the account they are recommending has a monthly fee! There is another account I could have and he has set that up for me, but with only a £50 'buffer zone' rather than an overdraft. So if something takes me slightly over, I won't be hit with charges, so long as I replace the funds within 48 hrs - which is what tends to happen, I just forget that some organisations (paypal for one) are a bit erratic in when they take payments.

As an example of the above, Virgin(ontheridiculous) have taken this months DD, even though I changed it to 28th. That's why I cancelled the DD in the first place, because they kept doing this; so its getting cancelled again.

Yesterday I walked to the cemetery, tidied Dad's grave and also Nan and Grandad's. Then just pottered round the house, watched Liverpool beat Chelsea, and had a lovely tea with HM apple crumble.

    Money stuff:-
because of the aforementioned Virgin error, I haven't got as much money as I thought I had, but... on the plus side, it won't come out of next months salary so am better off next month.
    £32.50 in purse
£52 on debit card for petrol - trip to Cornwall later today
£63.74 in bank - £3.74 duly PADded to savings pot.

I've ordered some stuff in the Voucher exchange and some Amazon vouchers from mysurvey, so zero cost Christmas presents.

I think I've got Christmas sorted, just need to tell my sister ;)
