Not the best name they could have picked!

    :j:j:j I have a working oven:j:j:j

    :money:

GO ME!!! and DS of course, who wielded the torch so I could see what I was doing.

    Cost of element £24.95

Of course now that its working we've realised the light isn't working, I had a new bulb, but it didn't work, so probably the element has gone. Back to t'interweb to get one from e-spares.

And I ordered some stuff from M@t@alan - a Regatta jacket, in the sale, a couple of tops, and a pair of legggings.

    congrats on the working oven!

My OH fixed a leaky pipe under our sink this week. At one point he was going to give up (parts about £2!) and I was like we can't afford a plumber you have to fix it and second attempt he sorted it! It's amazing what we can do when we try isn't it!

    Thanks SH

I bought another new lamp for the cooker, but it doesn't work, so suspect that whatever ruined the element also wrecked that. It was very diffficult to get the lamp out, so it may be damaged.

I can get a genuine part for £13.75 complete with bulb, or a different part for £9.95. For the sake of a couple of quid I'll go for the genuine part.

Well done to your OH for fixing the pipe, I did read about your water pouring out faster than going in. Lots of websites have really helpful information on them, its worth a try at these things.

I am off to buy an oven thermometer, and then I will do some batch baking. Haven't made cakes for soooo long. I did try using the halogen, but its only small, so can't make many.

Have just been reading about the horrific crash on the M5 - Somerset, colleague was driving back from Cornwall last night, hopefully she was early enough to miss that.

    Hope your colleague's okay :(

An oven thermometer ... I bought one on Amazon for £3 or so ... I haven't used the oven much, oops, but the thermometer's really good.

Colleague had stayed to have a meal with a friend, so left a while after me, and missed the accident by about half an hour, but when she pulled into the services and heard about it, she said she felt really sick.

    I'm baking!!!

Glad your colleague was safe... scary! OH took ages to come home from up north the other day because of a chemical spill - all the motorways and side roads kept getting shut round them due to accidents but they made it thro safely.

    What are you baking?

I'm painting.... feels like most of the paint ended up on me LOL rather than the walls, ceiling, woodwork etc but hey ho

  • I've made fairy cakes and some brownies and the bread maker has been on.

Is this the painting in anticipation of your new flooring?

I've just remembered that I stripped my bed this morning, so have got to go up and sort it. I did intend to do it earlier, but got sidetracked by playing in the kitchen.
