The bottom of this oven is WAYYYYY beyond Stardrops and elbow grease - so it will have to be toxic gunk this time. I used to be quite good at keeping it clean with bio soap powder, but I think its pizza's that have done it, all that cheese just falling down. And when I'm away pizza is easy for DS to cook.
You're right KC, the knack is to not let it get to that state in the first place! Although if my experiment with buying a cooker element doesn't work it may be easier to buy a new oven and then I really *will* be keeping it clean!

Doing your own thing at Christmas sounds a good idea.

We're doing the same - just a quick visit to my sister, nieces & nephews to drop off presents and another quick visit to my mum and brother then we're having a nice chilled out day at home with the cats. :)

Ah, knitting, I wish I had more time to practice - I would love to make some of the Jean Greenhowe toys. I have her Christmas pattern booklet and really want to make Santa & Mrs Claus but the patterns are still a foreign language to me. I would need my mum to translate, plus I can still only do knit stitch and just about got the hang of purl. :rotfl:

    FW

Oh no FW I still lurk on yours but I think I have lost too many brain cells at the moment to keep up with some of your streams of thought :o

Sashy - Jean Greenhowe stuff is quite easy to do, and there are some patterns that are just plain knit.

You can get free patterns here

DT - the idea of FW sitting down long enough to knit :p

Christmas, I'm also trying to work on my friend. She and her OH spend most of their few days off over Christmas driving up and down the country and sleeping on sofa's. Suggested that at the very least they come to me on Christmas Day, so they can have one chilled out day.

Thanks gilli, I might have a go at some of the smaller patterns just to get my knitting confidence up a bit. :D

Boring business park near the Airport. It's easy for everyone to get to but not exactly scenic :)

But there'll be lots of :coffee: and I'll
