I don't blame you for having a tv day yesterday - with the amount of travelling you do, it only makes sense.
You're going to fit the oven element yourself? Respect! And glad to hear there's some potential decluttering going on, especially when it earns money! The other weird piece of decluttering I've done is to check what there is on kindle or free at other e-libraries, and if its not a book I hold huge affection for, downloading the book and getting rid of the hard copy - I could never do that for Pride and Prejudice, for instance, or Harry Potter, but certainly for a book I was interested in but don't really *care* about ...
Anyway, enjoy your meal later on

KC - I'm going to try, it looks very similar to the way you used to do kettle elements, back in the day when they didn't automatically switch off and constantly burnt out!
Main problem for me will be actually reaching it, my arms aren't very long!
Today I've been doing the 15 minute bursts of energy.
So went to Mr A at the bottom of the road, just for a few BOGOF's and whoopsies.
W/M on
Sorted socks - where are all the odd ones?
Folded washing
Some ironing - I now have 6!!! pairs of black trousers, all hemmed with that magic stuff! Pity most of them are now a bit too big!
Next job is to get the sewing box out, and look at how I can make the trousers fit better. I'm thinking for now, I'll take the belt loops of DS' old work trousers, stitch it onto mine, and at least I'd be able to wear a belt. Especially with long tops, nobody will notice. I'm still between sizes, so no point buying more *yet*
Have also checked my clubcard account and I've got over £30 worth of unspent vouchers. Don't know whether to wait and see what the exchanges are in the run up to Christmas, or use them to treat myself to some new clothes when I lose another half stone. And.. I've only just discovered you can reprint the ones you've lost. I often lose them when they're only for a quid or two.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Thats a good idea about the belt loops - I'm sure you've lost more than one size, but maybe its not up to two sizes yet? Brilliant, which ever it is, thats when you know you've really made a difference
Also excellent on the Tesco vouchers - and whichever it turns out you use them for, its all grist to the mill!

Very proud of myself in an MSE way yesterday.
Still needed to get some stuff in, mainly drinks for DS, and food he can cook, so I used the change out of my jar in the self service till. I'd have felt uncomfortable handing £3 odd of slummy over, but easy enough to chuck it down a chute.
Was thinking about moving some money around as realised that I'll need around £60 for petrol to get to Glasgow and back, and that is before payday, but I've got a prepaid credit card with £25 on it and cash in my purse, so will see how far that gets me. It will at least get me there, and then I can think about it. My expenses may go in before then hopefully.
working from home again today, so need to get my head down now and stop playing round on t'interweb.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Excellent! Well done on the change - I used to take it to my bank, to be honest, they get that all the time. I don't bother collecting change now, I try to actually use it upat the time, I have no compunction about emptying my purse into my hand, and saying "can I give you some copper" :rotfl: nobody's ever said, no, we've got too much already!
Hope the work goes well - I just need to reheat my coffee, and I'll join you.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
I've stopped for a bit, so off to have a wander. Have had 'proper' coffee and now trying to decide what to have to eat.

OK - the oven. Have found a part online, it is ordered, and will be here at the weekend.
The oven just doesn't heat up, the fan whizzes around, but it stays cold. It may be something like the thermostat, but that is expensive and needs a proper electrician as you have to take the oven apart; so I'm hoping its just the element, which looks like its easy to fix (and that's what it was last time)
I've also been pointed at a fantastic website which has lots of parts for old Singer machines, so am going to have a bit of a 'labour of love' thing going on with my ancient Singer. The lady who runs the site says that the old machines are good value as better made, but doesn't recommend buying one like mine as the parts are getting harder to find. She has the slightly newer version than mine for sale for £45, so maybe that's something I can think about, look for one in the New Year.
Today I've got the last of the HM bread and veg soup to have for lunch, so bread cost around 45p to make, soup cost about a quid, and we've had at least 2 lunches each out of it, so I consider that to be bargainous!
Off to Glasgow later, only actually there one day, but staying overnight as its unreasonable to do a 4 hour drive there and back in one day!
Because of a 'bit of an issue' with the pre paid credit card, I've had to move some money to pay for petrol, but will put it straight back when the expenses money comes in. Boss is back off holiday and they've been approved, just waiting for the next payment run.
I have £13 in my purse to last until Thursday. Parking at hotel will cost around £5 - if I can manage to get into hotel car park it can be added to the bill, if I have to go to multi storey nearby I will have to pay and claim it back, so need to have some cash. Also will need a coffee half way home. I've got an insulated mug and a flask, I've tried taking coffee but it doesn't stay hot enough, or taste nice! I may try taking hot water, and some coffee sachets instead.
I've done my online shopping to be delivered Thursday while I'm out, I've spent £1.45 on some muffins in the hope it will encourage DS to actually put the stuff away properly.
