Hi all
its not an issue, most peoples names get shortened or whatever, but I just wondered when it happened. It just sort of evolved and until reading someone's diary and tying it back to something I'd seen on FB I'd never really made the connection.
Yep my real name is Ethel.
Tonight I have to make sure I've eaten before the Great British Bake Off starts, or else I'll be starving!
Off to do battle with London Transport again, there is a distinct lack of adequate signs, and unless you get an Oyster, its *really* expensive .I'm sure visitors to Liverpool probably feel the same, but I don't use public transport much so it may all be like that.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Ethel, dah-ling!
How do you feel about getting an Oyster? They guarantee you'll never be charged more than a travelcard - I have one now, its a really good deal.
Hope your journey back (to the hotel?) is okay.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Good luck in making your way through London.
I love love love Great British Bake Off, not quite sure why, I can't bake to save my life!
Big question is, who will win?0 -

Managed to find my way back to the hotel, admittedly it was easier getting on a bus that was going to the station anyway! Then on the Docklands railway. I must have walked miles on the tube on Monday, everyone must be so fit around here!
Off to get some food in a bit, selecting from the fancy menu, but the food is delicious; I just wish they wouldn't present it so pretentiously. It's difficult to know how to eat it! Last week for example I ordered a curry; straightforward you may think.
But no, it came in separate elegant pots with a pot of rice, all on a long tray, without enough room to tip it all out.
Good news - DS has rung, he has a job interview on Friday. So his stint of taking his CV into places has borne some fruit.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Morning all
back from 'that London' managed to get the earlier train so not too bad coming home. It seems like you walk for miles in those tube stations and its much easier if its not too crowded. 3pm on a Wednesday is far easier than 10am on a Monday!

Hey up Ethel - I changed my user name ages back cos of what you mentioned (I'm called Florence by the way) and often get called by either my mse name or my other um, the Florence name.
Even though I changed I think, I/other folk forget sometimes and use Florence.
TBH when I talk to a certain 'Mrs' on here - I often type in her other name - difficult to stop when the boundaries are a bit blurred, but I try hard. WHen cheery was up here, we often reverted to yapping in mse names (never sure who knows who in RL, or on FB) it was just easier!
I know i'm late - always behind the times me.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
