hIS MONEY or the governments money or what I get to keep him money whichever way it is seen covers very little these days and surely that is with everyone? It is not intended for that, it is to 'help' will never cover it all surely?

I'm agreeing with you! Plus almost everyone except those on high earning gets child benefit, and that's exactly what it is to help out with the costs
associated with rearing a child. If people don't like that they need to take it up with there MP, as it's the governments doing.

  • mid 20s, solely responsible for my 16 year old brother who lives with me (rest of family live abroad now). im not sure what you mean by position?

Hmmm, you are no more than a child yourself, when you are older and with more experience of life, your black and white views will change, you have no children of your own and haven't even made your first journey round the block my dear.....

  • Victory, don't rise to it, walk away, you are doing your best and that's all you can do. I am sure when the GF is off the scene your son will have different views towards you and his home life, trust me I know.

Why blame the GF? She has encouraged him to get a job and victory described her as a breath of fresh air!

I am not, I was meaning that it could be contributing towards problems as Victory says her son behaves well there but not at home..... In my experience they behave badly where they feel they can get away with it, he wont want to lose the GF so he behaves very well there...

  • I remember my 18th birthday. I was acting like a brat at that time, not demanding lots of stuff but being an !!!! about getting a job and generally being a ratty cow. I'd been through a bit of a bad time a couple of years earlier, but it was no excuse for how I was acting really. My dad told me that for my 18th birthday I'd be getting nothing because I'd done nothing to deserve it, and that's exactly what happened. I felt very hard done by at the time, but it did shock me into realising that I wasn't going to get everything I thought I was entitled to.
  • My son didn't spend his 18th with me lol, he spent it at the GF's with her peeps
