My mum also, she received the two cream trial for the £2.95 x 2etc but literally today, over one month after she received the trial they have taken the two amounts that of £79.99 and £74.95 however a week after the trial they took out £19.99so can everyone please check your account for this cheeky one. cos we only just found it now and it was from Jan.

The worst thing about it all is mum actually only noticed this week when her credit card was declined for the first time. She like the creams and would have bought more if it weren't a big scam. She isnt rich so taking such large amounts is disgraceful.

Now, can anyone please help us with correct number / email to contact from the UK so that we can try and get a refund. We have already cancelled her credit card and Capital one will be sending forms out in the post.

To be honest, I just really hope she gets the money back, as some of these postive posts here.

Anybody got any tips about what to mention in the email?

    All info appreciated, Thanks.

I will also be contacting Rip off Britain, although it should probably be called Rip off World because on google there are people complaining in Aus / Nz/ USA and other places.
  • I thought I was paying to get free trials of 2 products. I received three, and didn't think any more about it although I did think they were quite big samples. I don't recall seeing any small print about a subscription. When I checked my statement on line yesterday, there was a total of £204.94 taken!! I'm so cross. I emailed them and they have replied saying I will recieve a confirmation email that my subscription has been cancelled. I have emailed them back asking for a full refund. Like I'm going to pay that amount every month for a skin product! I will send the 'samples' back if I need to even though I had used them for a few days. I will never send off for a 'free' sample again! :(

I too have been conned by these people. I paid p & p for 4 samples in January, got my statement today and since 14 February they have debited £530. Can't get reply on phone, unable to get valid email address so went to bank who will make sure they don't take another payment as of today. They will make a claim against them which will take 45 days. Don't know if I will receive any of the money back but live in hope. No fool like an old fool!!

Yes, me also £269. the unfortunate part of it is that it is a legal scam

Legal scam is a bit of an oxymoron isn't it?

And who says it's legal? False/deceptive advertising is not legal.

Very similar "free trial" scams have resulted in prosecution by the FTC - that would not be the case if they were 'legal'.

If enough people report this scam to the FTC via this link, then perhaps similar action will be taken to stop this scam:

Thankyou everyone :T I got through to 08081683685 tonight and spoke to a guy who I think may have been Phillipino, he was very friendly and helpful. I told him I had an allergic reaction to the products and he agreed to cancel everything and refund ALL of the money in full within 7/10 days so fingers crossed!!
  • I too have been sucked in by this scam. Thanks to info from other members I telephoned 0808 168 3685 and spoke to Paul James in Cyprus of all places!!! I had paid £154.94 in Jan and again in Feb before I noticed.

I have been informed that I will receive an e-mail and refund for 3 of the 4 products which I have to return to a PO box in Edinburgh!!! I have sent them an e-mail to say if I do not receive this refund I will contact trading standards, trading commission, bbc consumer programmes, the newspapers and every person in my address book and ask them to send it on. I certainly cannot afford £150 a month for skin care. THis is a very expensive and distressing lesson and I will certainly limit my on line buying in future. Had I paid with my credit card I would have been entited to a refund because of the fraud cover they offer but this is not the case with a visa debit card. Will keep you posted on the refund.

If you had got something you might not have got your money back so you were lucky.

Hi Everyone, just to let you know I got my full refund of £360.00, so please don't give up. When I called 0808 1683685 they took ages to answer the phone but they did eventually. You've just got to be prepared to wait....
I told them if I didn't get all my money back I would report them to Watchdog, Trading Standards and if need be take them to court. The women at the other end of the phone was very quite and after talking with her boss told me I'd get a full refund in 7-10 days. She also told me more cream had been sent out and when it arrived could I send it unopened to a PO Box in Scotland. So far it hasn't arrived and if and when it does I have no intention of sending it anywhere, after what they've done........I don't think so !!!!!!
The day after I called I had emails confirming the refund and I did get it within a week.:T
I have now a new bank account and new card on the advice of a friend, making sure those cheating scum can't steal from me any more. And I will never, never be so stupid as to give out my bank details again....what on earth was I thinking about......
    From a relived She3..
  • Never posted anything before but here goes. Yes I’m another muppet - but got a refund. Ordered what I thought was a free trial (Perfect Radiance and Revitaderm) on 1st January, just paying P&P. Never gave it another thought. Goods arrived end of January but I never even opened them to try. Mid March I checked my credit card transactions and had 2 massive payments taken (£79.99 and £74.99). As soon as I began the search on the company name I found all the horror stories. Phoned credit card company and they informed me there were also 2 more payments taken in the following month’s statement. A total of almost £310. Bank told me they couldn’t stop payments - I’d entered into a contract etc., etc. and it was up to me to cancel the contract. I emailed cancellation and demanded a refund. Received cancellation numbers but was refused a refund. They drew my attention to their link showing terms and conditions. The following day two more pots arrived. I phoned the bank for advice (I had already filled in and returned the bank’s dispute form).. They told me I had to return the goods via track & trace and when received at destination ask for a refund. But bank said I would have to take a ‘hit’ on the first payments. I phoned Perfect Radiance to establish where the goods should be returned to (They had a Swedish postmark & address as well as the USA address). I was only waiting about 2 minutes before an American lady answered. She told me to return goods to Linlithgow address. I was ‘armed’ with all the info gleaned from this great forum and then said I wanted a refund for the trial samples. She began quoting the terms etc, about returning them within 12 days. I said (firm but polite) they didn’t arrive until well after the 12 day period so they had breached their own contract terms. I said the goods had never been opened and wanted a refund. She immediately agreed - after checking again that they were unopened. I couldn’t really believe it and asked for email confirmation. I got that the next day for both items and the money was refunded a few days later (well before the goods had arrived back at Linlithgow). I got the impression that even if the goods had been opened I could still have pressed and got a refund. When I phoned the card company to inform them they said they were processing quite a lot refunds from them!!! Good luck to all. My stupidity cost me about £10 and even more grey hairs and wrinkles! Could have been so much worse.
