hi all, i have just recieved a phone call from cs and she apologised for what had happened and said because of the item being discontinued they could not provide the item so for my trouble of dragging 4 children to the store to be dissapointed she would refund £10 on to my card as a gesture of good will, Would rather of had the item but £10 up.:j

Right peeps.... I have been scouring the net for a storio and found the 'boys' version on play.com and amazon for £42.39. This one comes with the Toy Story game. Was very close to ordering off play and then remembered Mothercare's price match so gave them a call.
The lady price matched it to amazon to the (8 new) price of £41.49, and because the original price was over £50 I got free delivery, then when she actually put the order and card through to pay for it, their system took some discount off which she couldn't explain so I have managed to get it for £38.14 delivered AND I get the £10 voucher! So I've got mine for £28.14 - now for those of you that managed to get £10 off the monkeys at Tesco this is pretty close to the original price!!
I'm not posting this as a new deal as I think the people let down by Tesco from this thread should get the chance first!!

Well done Jemma, that's a fab price. I'm hoping to get one if Tesco does its clubcard double up before Xmas (fingers crossed!).

I've only just taken notice of these readers since following this thread and was wondering if anyone knows if there's any big difference between the animated reading e-book reading systems and the animated storyteller books. Is one just a newer version of the same toy?... (Thanks in advance).

Hi all. I have just been reading this thread with disappointment!
I have ordered a Dora Storio for £16.97 today! Tesco have not changed the advertisement or said it was discontinued and has allowed me to order the item.
Has anyone actually received a DORA storio from tesco for this price or is everyone having the same problems because of a 'faulty' catalogue number?
If i don't receive the item i have ordered i will be fuming. It is false advertising!! I think a phonecall or few to watchdog will make them buck their ideas up!

when i spoke to customer services the other day was told this was disscontinued as it is wrong item and they do not have them in stock, they are so out of order putting it back on site may have to give them a ring and give them an ear full:mad:

I am going to pick the item up later so i shall let everyone know how i get on I am planning on asking for the other dora storio that they have in stock (£55 upgraded one). As my daughter really wanted this item for jer birthday next week so i shall be taking my daughter along with me for sympathy factor haha! I want the item i purchased or a better equivelant and i for one will not be fobbed off with a refund and an apology! Wish me luck :rotfl:

Customer Services apologised to me yesterday and promised to send me the correct one with the storio today. However, when the email came confirming delivery for today, it read the same product code so i'm sure they're sending me the toy story ebook again. Will let you know what arrives.

To the people on here wanting the dora storio.
Boots.com have it instock and its included in the 3 for 2 toy offer.
So if you need other toys you will get 1 free.
There is also a code for £10 off an £80 spend on the discount codes on vouchers board, so could make it a good deal for people.

just spojke to customer services. the girl informed me that the item is still available and in final chance to buy (like before).

i have reordered but told her i do not expect to get the same item as before. she said that the problem should now have been corrected but if not then when my order is available to collect and i can the wrong product i am to contact them again and they are going to see what they can do.

just hope everyone receives the correct items this time
