Further update. Called Halifax at 8am this morning. Told that I was in the calculations queue but that there were no timescales as they had such a backlog. They told me they are going by date order and they didnt receive my acceptances until 16 Sept (although i faxed on 9th Sept). Apparently I will go through the queue until i get calculated and will then be sent to redress dept then letters will be sent out. Not really much to report to be honest.

PS. Have decided to email ceo tonight to see if it makes a difference. Have refrained from doing so so far.

    Morning all

Just rang Halifax again. Have been told that I am now with the calculations department and that I dont need to do anything else and they will send a calculations letter and a letter explaining how they are going to pay me in due course (still cant tell me when). I suppose it is a slight improvement from the beginning of the week. Didnt bother emailing the CEO in any event.

  • The cheque set up is an absolute joke as far as same bank to customer account is concerned. Not had anything this week from them at all. Think I better call!

Meant to say that when I queried the guidelines on how long they had to pay the money ie 8 weeks I was told that there are no guidelines set by the FSA and they can take as long as they like to pay up.

    Happy Friday everyone!

I got my letter on the 18th July stating redress amount...I am still waiting on the cheque! Have had to get FOS involved, Halifax aren't even keeping their promises to call me back ( to find out where my cheque is). Constantly being told duff information. Absolute joke.

It really does take the biscuit that!

I was told this morning that the interest had been calculated up until the 28th of this month, and cheque should be issued 28 days from the date on the letter.
Now this is the odd bit, one of my cheques last week was dated the 29th of September, the letter of calculation was dated the 30th...which completely blows that fob off out of the water.

I need my cheques and I need them now. I've got the car repair bill and its a rather hefty 600 quid, as it failed the mot, thats before I put on two new tyres costing 300 quid, and the road tax at the end of the month :(
My Oh still hasn't got a start date on a job he has been given 'unofficially', he reluctantly claimed job seekers last week, after a month off, which doesn't even touch the sides of household bills. The cheques I received last week covered the months bills.

    I feeel physically sick :(
4.3k owed to me, which could solve the lot for as long as required to get the OH back to work. We've never had this situation ever before, and its quite frightening. Its a horrible feeling, having carrots dangled but nothing solid. We've ever had to rely on payouts of any kind from anyone.

I think I might start throwing cocktail sticks at people soon.....ouch lol

I will keep you all up todate on the situation. I have been banking on this money for months...I am still waiting, the lady told me today that while they aren't supposed to say any dates at all, all cheques are meant to be out in 60 days....I'm heading for 90!!

I received another bankers draft today in respect of my CC claim, just over £3,400.

I spoke with them today and they are going to send me copies of the figures that they used for my calculations, as they say that my PPI premiums are correct.

If PPI premiums from 1998 to current day come to £1500 ish, and the APR on the car is 29%, I cant wait to see how there so called compounding of interest on the PPI comes to £1100. :rotfl:

Been quoted 2-3 weeks to receive the figures and I guarantee that I have reworked the calculations and sent them back within 1 week.

Think they may end up regretting messing me about as I am a secret crime fighter :rotfl:
