I received 2 cheques today in respect of 2 loans.

I suspect I will get the other 5 over the next couple of days.

I have told them to look at the CC claim again as I have worked out why it was wrong.

They averaged the last 6 years and worked it out by dividing it by 6 and multiplying it by 13.

The first 7 years of the card, it had a much higher limit. I was wreckless and it was always maxed out.

The last 6 years, the limit was reduced from £3,500 to £500, so the claim should be much, much higher.

They are looking at it again, so hopefully it will be done properly this time.

I shall keep you all posted as always.

Happy with the £3,900 from my loans though and that money will come in handy.

I received bankers drafts, which will take 7 days to clear. I think this is a bit naughty to say that Halifax have issued them and it was paid into a Halifax account.

Saying that though, 7 days interest on hundreds of millions is probably worth having :rotfl:

Still nothing on mine, but I guess it could take a while to work out.:(

First loan was in 2001, topped up/refinanced at least twice (maybe three times), the last one for £7k with just shy of £2k as the PPI loan. I'm assuming that previous loans had PPI on them, but no idea as I didn't keep the paperwork once they were refinanced.

Then there's the two credit cards (even though I was told at the time of taking the second one out with my current account, that HFX don't normally let people have more than one credit card with them!), one of which had a limit of £10.5k and nearly that much as a balance thanks to the spending habits of me and my then partner...

I'm expecting about £3k or so from the most recent loan, so anything over and above that is going to be epic! I just wish they'd hurry up... :rotfl:

Can anyone remember what the PPI percentage was for HFX credit cards? As they've now stopped offering PPI, I can't find any reference to the historical rates..

Another Halifax bankers draft arrived today.

Paid into HSBC and 13th and will clear on the 18th.

Paid into Halifax on the 12th and will not clear until the 19th.

    Hmmmmnnnn.

So basically a Bankers draft, drawn from the Halifaz and paid into the Halifax, takes 7 days to clear (5 working days).

But paid into a different bank from the originators account and it only takes 5 days (3 working days)

Can't help but think something is a miss here

I really cant help but laugh with this Ian, it really does beggar belief in what these people do, why can't they do bacs payments or faster payment, absolutely mental:cool:

Originally they agreed to pay Loan redress via the faster payment system (2 hours), but CC redress had to be via cheque due to the way that it is raised against the account.

    Fair enough I thought.

Clearly, some CEO type has had the accountants working out how much interest they were losing by doing that and this is their solution.

on £100m, the interest for 7 days would be quite a few quid.

Hence this latest !!!! take IMO.
