OMG I COULD WRITE A BOOK.
I have the world's worst commute into work, and I think I am going to die early from blood pressure problems due to:
- Middle lane hogs (!!!!!!).
- Lorries that are governed and try to overtake each other, thus holding up 2 lanes of traffic at 55 mph for 5 miles.
- Absolute maniacs (that probably got their licenses at WHSmiths) who cannot work out what to do when motorways merge - there is a bit on the M6 N where it becomes either M6, M6 toll or M42, and the amount of times I have nearly been killed by people realising past the last minute they are in the wrong lane, then sailing across the hatched lines into my path.
- Swine who leave it to the last minute to move over when a lane runs out - ie when 4 become three again, and you end up with a jam at the point where the lanes converge, because people are too stupid to plan ahead.
- Old men wearing flat caps who drive in the third lane at 65 miles an hour (you can almost hear them saying "65 mph is far more economical for our car, Maureen")
- Chavs in TWOC'd novas screaming past at warp factor 8 with their boom boxes threatening to rattle the tarmac off the road.
- Idiots who trundle along in the inside lane, seemingly oblivious to the impending slip road on to the motorway, and the cars thundering down it.
- People continuing to drive with their bonnet 6 inches across the back of your car in the lane you are indicating to try and get into.
- The stunning amount of peope who seem to have no idea what all these levers on their steering column are for (They're called indicators you muppet!)
- People who obviously only use the motorway twice a decade, and whose panicking and anxiety makes them lethal, as they dither, swerve, brake and generally cause mayhem.
- travelling behind people who are obviously lost, and dawdle along craning around trying to see where they are / the turning is - pull over and read a map !!!!!!!
- Nigel the rep who comes screaming up behind you flashing his lights, when you have nowhere to go to get out of his way (oh for a handy copper when you want one).
- Idiots who suddenly realise it's their exit when they are doing 90 in the outside lane, then sail across all three lanes of traffic with joyful disregard for anyone else.
Really - pretty much anyone on the M6, M5 or M54"It was not my intention to do this in front of you. For that, I'm sorry. But you can take my word for it, your mother had it comin'."

I HATE the taxi drivers in my area they make their own rules up as they go along, they pull over at the last second with no indication, they stop to have a conversation in the middle of the road two abreast so no one can pass, then the other day as I was sitting in a long queue at the lights one individual sailed past with his right indicator flashing to the front and pushed his way in and turned left...grrrrrr....I would not have let the cheeky b**!!!! in if I had been at the front.bye hoo0

i hate and hope the police caught them, the two BMW drivers who flew down the hard shoulder on the n bound M6 this morning when there was a crash blocking the exit slip and three lanes.
It was obvious it was a crash the police, ambulance and fire crews had gone down the hard shoulder 10 mins before and it was on the radio.
I dont know why they think their lives are so much more important..grrrrReady to Go Go!0 -
All of the above by EVERY poster so far...
As well as those idiots on a busy single carriageway A road who think that by taking half of my lane and trying to push me into the verge when over taking means that they won't be hit head on by the on coming lorry.
Cyclists who think that red traffic lights don't apply to them too.
And drivers of silver cars who on a grey day drive a silver car on a grey road with grey rain and spray who think that they can be seen without any lights on whatsoever...0 -
Okay, here we go:
1. CARAVANS - Scourge of humanity. Should only be allowed on the roads between the hours of 3 and 5 in the morning. As my father says "blessed is the caravan driver for ahead of him lies the open road"
2. Middle lane morons - enough said already.
3. At what age do people start to think that the national limit is 45 mph? This sort of ties in to little old ladies, faces 1cm from the steering wheel crawling along with blissful disregard for the rest of the motorway.
4. In response to the losers who cut into lane reductions almost at the cones, I used to live in Germany and if you did not cut in by 500m from the lane closure you would never get in (fast moving Mercs / Beemers etc). The result is that everyone flew through without slowing down and the lane loss affected no-one.

I remember back in the early eighties my first driving instructor smelt of booze.I refused to get in.Gladly I didn't learn too much from him. Then in the early nineties I had a driving school car shoot out into the side of my vehicle
causing some damage and guess what the driving instructor had been drinking (no pupil in the car).
On a different note....does anyone know:if you are exceeding the speed limit
and passing a speed camera, and it does not flash,is it true that your details can still be noted on the computer and should you perform these actions over 20 times even from different cameras you will be sent a speeding fine.
(of course some cameras can be set over a certain speed before they flash-here I am talking maybe 1 or 2 mph over0 -
I drive how i want.If others dont like it thats their problem. Its dog eat dog on the roads. On the motorway i always drive in the middle lane why not?If you do move over you just end up getting pinned in the slow lane. The amont of sunday drivers on the roads is the biggerst problem.............0

m00nie wrote:lol,if its impatience causing them to pull out, what is it to complain about it and even result in swearing cause you have to stop for a few seconds?
Janis said she had to stop for them , but although I didn't make it clear , I tend to see this quite often from a different aspect. When i'm travelling down a road , I often see cars turning right out of a side road to join the road i'm on and travel in the same direction as myself and I can see that they are holding traffic up coming in the opposite direction to myself , so it's not so much impatience for holding me up , but just annoyance at their thoughtlessness towards other drivers. It also can be scary when they pull out as it looks as if they are going to pull right out into my lane in front of me sometimes
I'd never say I was a perfect driver , but I do care about the standard of my driving and how it affects others and the comment from someone saying that they drive how they want.If others dont like it thats their problem , just says it all to meSame old same old since 20080 -

coz its dangerous you idiot.
people have to keep changing lanes to overtake you you cause traffic jams.
i really do not understand why people do it.
people who drive in the middle lane for no reason are just simply bad drivers they have no regards for other motorway users and have no awareness what is happening around them.mmmm free stufffffffff0 -

so by that then i take it you dont flash them to let them, out, otherwise you wouldnt worry about them pulling out in front of you, if you slowed down, flashed them they could pull out in front of you and allow ALL traffic to continue moving. So if you dont flash them to let them out is that not you being impatient also? you would prefer to drive past and leave the other traffic in opposite direction blocked where as just by slowing down a bit you could get it all moving again.0
