It's money saving as when the new iClone, sorry iPhone comes out, the prices of the current models fall & become available when the sheep whom upgrade every year when the latest model comes out gets rid of their current perfectly good phones.
  • Currently using iPhone 3 gs and will continue to use past iPhone 5 and 6 and 7and then will buy iPhone 5 in about 3 or 4 years time cash apple will cater to my needs not the other way round. Don't forget if you want to pay up to 50 quid a month for 2 years on a phone when your rent and fuel bills are rocketing and at some point your mortgage then you are either single. rich. Or a gulible fool

Not sure you're being quite as savvy as you think here.
My iPhone 4 costs me £35/month on the one plan from 3. Has so many texts, minutes and data (all I can eat), that I scarcely pay a penny more than that.

I got £109 cashback from quidco and, if I were you, I could get something like £150 for selling my 3GS on at the moment.

Take this £259 off the total cost and my contract's down to £24/month. Most moderate users will struggle to find a tarrif much lower than that for reasonable usage. Do this every 2 years and you never own a phone more than 2 years old, which means they'll still have good support.

I've no doubt you'll save a few quid doing it your way, but it's doesn't really cost £50/month to keep up with a current gen phone...

I just hope they hurry up and bl**dy release this thing! Not because I want it, but because I am waiting for just about every other mobile handset to drop in price and be a bit more competative so I can reconsider my non-mobile-phone status! (would love an iphone but I think it would eat my bank balance for breakfast!)

Sorry forgot financially savvy good on you

i on the other hand would fall into the fool category ,i stand to be corrected but with 3 you cannot drop the contract so if its 35.00 pound a month then its 35.00 a month regardless and if you cannot pay then legal action debt collectors credit rateing affected all it takes is a change in circumstance is that really worth it every 2 years just to have the latest
i am happy with 3 gs videos i can convert to 720 p and there great wifi 3 g etc great and paid for i will enjoy the better than 3gs technology a couple of years down the line
  • The release of any apple product always causes a lot of debate.

In 1 corner there is the apple fans who will always buy the latest gadget and in the other corner there is the apple haters.

Never known such a brand to drive such interest either way!

BTW currently pay £20 per month for my iphone 4 and will be investing in the iphone 5!

The only real security that a man can have in this world is a reserve of knowledge, experience and ability.
  • I agree that it's wrong for MSE to be joining in with the shameless promotion of the iPhone.

If people want a fashionable phone then they can go ahead and pay the extra for it but the simple fact is there are better phones out there than the iPhone and they are better value.

When a money saving website runs articles like this people come to the wrong conclusions and waste money.
