Had a lovely family holiday last week, kids really enjoyed themselves and oh and I also had a nice time. Spent a bit more than I had hoped but all in all a cheep holl.

Our tax creds have gone down a lot so it is taking a bit of adjusting but I'm confident we will get used to it ( as we have to )

I have set my self a task to cut the spending more, not sure where but I will find a way ;)
Can't wait till out virgin contract ends as thats over £60pm:eek: and my O2 contact runs out in the next 2 months, will try to make savings on that.

Spent yesturday looking on rightmove and found a nice house in my home town but and it's a bit but after looking into it more even though it's on for only £35k more than we would get for our house we would still need to find and extra 56k:eek:As our wages dropped so much. So to cheer myself up I made an op of £500:T bringing us on target:T

Wow, wow, wow ::D my house has never been so clean :T I have spend the last few days scrubbing, polishing, hoovering and dusting, I feel like I have moved into a show home (almost) now to keep it up.

Our fridge final gave up ( to join the oven) had to buy a new one, also our washing machine is making noises it shouldn't, that wont be long for this world soon. It all goes at onese doesn't it, no doubt the car will be joining the long list I am comprising.

On a positive note I have changed the way I shop and it working, I will give it another months and will update you with how much it saving us, hoping £10pw which will soon all add up:rotfl:

Sorry not posted in some time, don't really have anything exciting to update you with.

We have decorated the lounge, stairs and hallway :D and it is looking rather lovely. We did it our selfs as was quoted £700 from the professionals, it only took us two days and it was a very bit job. Have ended spending £900 on carpet :eek: lots I know and not very mse but we are trying to slowly do the house up and as we can't stretch to the new kitchen we have dreamed of we thought what the hell :D

Been sorting though the finances this morning and seem to be back I the black :T from now on I will be splitting any spare money in two, half OP and half new kitchen pot, I have also set up a online sealed pot for the kids savings as feeling a bit guilty as not started one yet :o

We will need about 7k for the kitche, we have 4k :T over half way :)
Mortgage I would like to overpay by 6k this year, don't think I wil do it but would like to give it a good go.

Well after feeling a little down about not getting our new kitchen, I have come a cross a guy that refurbishes kitchens. My hope is alive again ;) had him out to take a look, fingers crossed it will come in budget. Has anyone else done this? What did it end up like?

My phone contract ran out this month, signed up again with a new phone, got more minuets etc for £5 less per month. Other than that not a very mse week, new carpet get fitted on Friday and really need to get some new chest of draws as we don't have any space, all our cloths end up in heaps on top of our old ones and had to pay out for a school trip, not much at £12 but it has thrown me out of my budget.

When you say 'refurbishes kitchens' do you mean replacing the doors on the units? I would check exactly what it entails, and cost it carefully, as if it is just the doors, it is pretty simple to do it yourself.

Hi dawn, it will involve new doors, a couple of new units, removing units, new work top, removing tiles etc
We did look in to doing our self but oh is super rubbish at anything DIY and is not worth my sanity :rotfl: our units then selfs are fine it just everything else I hate so would make sense to do it this way, cost permitting of course.

Carpet is down and we love it. It's really does make a huge difference (used to have laminate) I feel like I'm in a really posh hotel, it's so bouncy :D

We had a lazy day Saturday, I felt I'll s spent most of it moping around. Perked up for fathers day, took oh and my dad out for lunch. It's was a really nice day but cost us £70 of which I again did not budget for so will have to come out of the savings.

Thinking about the finances again this morning as my client didn't bother showing, costing me £40  ( it doesn't really take much time to cancel at least I would know and not be sat waiting) I am going to have to be really good next month to get us back on track, I don't no about you all but I can't help but go off the boil every now and again. I really want this morgage gone by the time I'm 40 (11 years to go) but it finding the balance. I am already known by my oh and some family as a tight wad and getting me to spend money is like getting blood out of a stone ( not sure I'm happy about people thinking of me this way) something to think about :(
