Right I'm back on it from today
money has been running out of the bank account over the last month.
This summer holidays are costing a fortune. £52 for swimming lessons, £15.95 per day in the local kids camp for ds1.
I am thinking £100:eek::eek::eek: for Lego land next week and £21 for cinema.
Have also been naughty, been looking on rightmove again and arranged a viewing for a 4 bed semi:( it's only 15k more than I have been told we will get for ours) I'm just being nosey really, there is nothing wrong with our house and I am very attached to it, but the thought of 4 bedrooms is nice, the garden is bigger and potential to make it a 5 bed:D but it has no room really suitable for me to work out of and the thought of selling is not my idear of fun. I will let you know what I think when I see it.MFIT-T3 - 31 = (2012 £3050) 2013 op = £3009

Then ended up in mr T, why I keep putting myself thought it I don't no, I HATE TESCOs with a passion, it over priced and bad quality. But I did find my 241's for legoland and washing powder was half price but still the negatives far out way the possatives.
This evening I will be reassessing AGAIN and try to get back on track AGAIN!;)
House viewing still hasn't happened  will update when viewed.

I'm in two minds about reducing the morgage term officially. We are currentley at 25.5 yrs:eek::eek: with just over 149k paying £664 and oping between £250 & £500 pm. I want to reduce it to 20 yrs this will increase the monthly payments by £100ishpm, still leavening room for oping and a safety net for when rates rise. Hmmmm I find it so hard to decide. What do you think?MFIT-T3 - 31 = (2012 £3050) 2013 op = £3009

I'd reduce the mortgage term..... I did the same thing - when we first moved here we took the mortgage over 30 years, a year or so later we reduced it to 25 years and then a year or so after that we reduced it to 20 years.... basically, each time I had a salary increase, I reduced the term.
Although, now I just make overpayments and haven't amended the term for a while.
I guess it just depends whether you are likely to need any of the OP back at any point (if your lender allows you to do that).

I wouldn't decrease the term as it maximises your flexibility if things get tough. The length of your term makes no difference as long as you keep OPing, but does allow you to minimise your mortgage payments if your lose your job or something. It also means you need a smaller emergency fund (3 - 6 months of outgoings) which actually means more is OPd!
I would only consider reducing the term closer to your MF date and then only if it reduces the fees you have to pay to actually pay off the mortgage.Borrowed £150,000 in an offset tracker mortgage in May 2007 - MFD May 2041 (67)

Thank you both. I have been thinking about it a lot today and how i need to buckle down again. Money has just been flowing away but I really want to do fun things as a family during the holls then start afresh in September.
Took the kiddies and oh to f&b for lunch today, found a kids eat free voucher, oh and I ate from the lunch menu ( 2 courses for £9) good value I think.
*Filled the tank, adding 39 points to my Nectar card
* Ordered ds1 school uniform via tcb ( £78 pending so far this year)
* Thinking of using my tesco c card to get the points (pay in full at the end of the month ) instead of my debit card.
Hoping for a NSD tomorrow :j and will aim for another 2 by Sunday ( hears hoping)
I have soooooo much to get done in the house over the next few weeks, mainly sorting the kitchen ready for the new kitchen.MFIT-T3 - 31 = (2012 £3050) 2013 op = £3009
