Suffering today with the worst hay fever I have ever had. Mode the grass and pottered in the garden for a little bit, then it hit MG I could not stop sneezing, I had to abandon ship and come inside :( feeling really sleepy now.

Phoned bank to get outstanding balance of the mortgage £149,693 :D
Also spoke to the adviser about how to deal with our overpayments from now on. At the moment I have kept it as taking the interest of the monthly payment to get them down to a more stainable level ready for the rate rises, now that is done it will now be taken off the term. Am I right in thinking all my other over payments have reduced the term but not officially?
I got my self all in a muddle so asked her to send me a statement.

No work tomorrow :rotfl: what to do all depends on this horrid weather hmmm

I am already known by my oh and some family as a tight wad and getting me to spend money is like getting blood out of a stone ( not sure I'm happy about people thinking of me this way) something to think about :(

    Hi Beth,

Just dropping by whilst browsing some diaries and this post made me :) people at work call me tight as well so I understand where you are coming from. They joke about it in a light hearted way but it does annoy me sometimes. At least we are all amongst like-minded people on this MFW board :)

Last week and this we have all been ill  DS1 is not allowed in school for another week, he is a lot better but they won't let him in for another 5 days  being stuck in has made me bargain hunting mad almost done the boys Xmas shopping already

Went though the accounts this morning and we are on track to beable to save/op a few hundred extra at the end of the month, fingers crossed it says that way.
The budgeting really does seem to be working, just need to keep on top of big half unexspeded spends. OH has a week off beg of Aug, I would love to do some great fun stuff as a family.
I was going to book a night at the Bournemouth premier inn, but with all the rain I think I will leave it as it may end up being a wasted £60, free chessington tickets came though the post today, that's one day sorted now to sort the rest.;)

Oh is doing our garage up (his man cave) But wants to buy some weights at a cost of hundreds, on the plus side he will be canceling his gym membership saving £35pm.
I am also going to cancel lovefilm and Netflix as both are pretty rubbish, that's another saving of £11ish.

    Things to do

HOUSEWORK, must get on top of the housework.

This month has been a bit of a high spend month, oh got some new cloths and I got a few bits for the house among other things. Next month will be the same with the kids off for the summer, I have promised we will go to Lego land before I realised how much it was going to cost , taking them to the cinema Wednesday (thanks orange Wednesday) just ordered my free sim, I may have one but ordered one just to be sure. if it nice on Saturday we plan to go to Bournemouth for the day and off to Blenheim palace with my tesco vouchers :D for a pick-nick ( weather dependant).

The next few days I will be scourering the Internet for things to do and getting good deals.

Food shopping is going well:T I was spending £60-£70 now it's down to £50-£60per week.

Will try and put an other op in the pot this month but We have given the go ahead to our carpenter to sort the kitchen :D need to get all the money together for him. I am soooooooooooo excited about getting a new kitchen ATLAST!!!!!! Work should start in 4 weeks.

    Jobs to do.

Hi beth, I have just read your whole diary :D We have a similar size mortgage and I am always having the do up the house/ overpay dilema. Its really hard to decide what to do for the best sometimes.

I also have a dh that wants to be mf, and is good at cutting back except if its something he really wants :rotfl:

Legoland is really dear, the other theme parks do around 40% off if you book a week or so in advance for a particular day, and with all of them you can book a super cheap ticket to come back for the next day (thorpe park was £6) , handy if you want to make a weekend of it or live nearby, especially with very long queues in the holidays.

Hi newgirly, thinks for popping over. I often read your diary :D

I have found some kids go free for Legoland vouchers, so not such a big hit on the purse. DS1 is very excited, he is asking every 5 mins if we are going now :)

NSD today, spent it at my mums and she did a barbi lunch. Transferred credit card 2 to an other 0% for 20months :D
Hope to clear CC1&2 by the time this one comes to an end.
£1500 ish on CC1 and £2500 ish on CC2.:eek::eek: not doing to badly as this time last year we had 3 cards totalling 6k. 2k paid off :T

I have found this month I have slipped off the wagon a bit. I was looking at my statement the other day and noticed £52 had come out. I thought about it and it was for 2 t shirts for OH and to duvets covers for DS1 & 2 (grabbit) I was really cross with myself, we did not want or need any of it, I just wasted £52 for nothing. It has really made me think.i will try not to make the same mistake again  even thinking about im cross with myself :(

Hope you are enjoying the sunshine.
