Sepa makes some really good points here and I totally agree - I guess it just depends on whether you always have the discipline to make the OP's that you have in mind...

I found that a combination of the 2 worked well for us - shorter term and OP's.

    Good luck x

Hi newgirly, thinks for popping over. I often read your diary :D

I have found some kids go free for Legoland vouchers, so not such a big hit on the purse. DS1 is very excited, he is asking every 5 mins if we are going now :)

NSD today, spent it at my mums and she did a barbi lunch. Transferred credit card 2 to an other 0% for 20months :D
Hope to clear CC1&2 by the time this one comes to an end.
£1500 ish on CC1 and £2500 ish on CC2.:eek::eek: not doing to badly as this time last year we had 3 cards totalling 6k. 2k paid off :T

I have found this month I have slipped off the wagon a bit. I was looking at my statement the other day and noticed £52 had come out. I thought about it and it was for 2 t shirts for OH and to duvets covers for DS1 & 2 (grabbit) I was really cross with myself, we did not want or need any of it, I just wasted £52 for nothing. It has really made me think.i will try not to make the same mistake again  even thinking about im cross with myself :(

Hope you are enjoying the sunshine.

Got CC1's statement through today it's at £1146 :T we are doing better than first thought.

Worked quite a bit today, tomorrow will be a day of rest. I Will be back with more of an update then.

    Not doing very well :(

I finally ordered our new oven and hop ( not had one since January ) so we do need one really, I've just been really tight.. Used tcb, 12.48 to the op pot.
I have had to put this on a cc but will pay it off at the end of the month. Used mr t card for the points.

Also order some new lights ready for the kitchen, also used tcb ( still waiting for it to track )

I have a nice £88 in tcb now waiting to op :T

Panicking about the mot and full service that need going next month- job for later research council mot centres.

Now just need to make sure I clear the card and find and exstra £700 to pay the kitchen man. This should all be ok and paid by the end of sep;)

It's very quite here, boys are at there Nans for the afternoon as I have work later. I really should be using this time to tidy but but as usual I'm on this forum catching up with diarys.

I have said before but this month is not going well, only managed half the op I aim for. OH and I have sat down and discussed from September we will be all hand on deck. He really has come on board now, which is great. He really wants to stop working full time asap, the thought of this is keeping him going.

It is early to mention the C word but I really do need to get a list together so December we don't find ourself in the same situation as this month.

About 6 months ago I started a spare change pot for the boys and I have almost reached the top, I need to decide on an account for them to put it in also every month I have put aside £20. Not much but it's something and I hope when this morgage has gone for good we will beable to help them out a lot more than my parents every could with me. The thought of helping them is a big incentive to keep going, not stopping fun family things but not wast like I feel I have this month.I have really let myself down and I will not let it happen again ( I hope;) ) anyway that's enough feeling sorry for my self, we are almost at a new month:eek:

I'd shorten the term, as the impact £100 a month isn't too great.

We started with an end date same as yours Nov 37, but hoping for sometime in 22 (15 years in total rather than 30).

It is tricky though because as Sepa says if you lose your job you are committed to the higher payments, unless they let you move the term up again, which they might.

I'm considering a 10 year term when we remortgage, as currently got 15 years left. Undecided as yet.
    OPs so far £42,139
Original end date Nov 2037 (53) Current end date June 2024 (40) Aiming for 5 years to be Mf
    DD1 Oct 2008:), DD2 Jul 2010:), DD3 Aug 2013:)

It is hard isn't it. I'm really bad at making my mind up anyway. I did phone them up again about changing the term. If I made it 20 years repayment would be £790 ish 23 years £710ish ( at the mo)
In my mind we should be at 18 yrs as our first house was intrest only for 21/2 years and we had to take this one over 30. But that my strange logic and not willing yet to take it that low on paper.

But as sepa said that safety net is so important theys days hmmmmmmm

Oh and they will charge me £20 for the pleasure.

Anyway it was I bit pointless as I can't find any that can come sooner than 14th

Went though the accounts yesturday, I have such a long list of thing that need paying or will need paying by the end of the year

    The big C ?
    Car tax £63
    Car mot/ service £150
    Kitchen man £1300

Kitchen lights ( hope theys will be free :D as sent back as faulty, they then sent me a new one + a cheque:rotfl:) £45

Food shopping has come a bit over budget, hoping this will be ok as got quite a bit. NSD today apart from petrol and food shop, which I good for us, we normally make our way in the md's on days like this.

Oh is hoping to get more overtime this months to get us back on track. We have also decided that he is going back to collage so that's also going to cost LOADS, but it will be worth it when he's finished :T we where also thinking about another ds or db but finacial we can't do it. I want to beable to give my boys all I can and having another will set us back about 5 years, I am a bit sat about it but not much we can do about it :(

Hoping to have minimal spends this week.
