    that's still quite high, what's running?

    uninstall windows defender
    uninstall malwarebytes
    reinstall malwarebytes, and decline the 14 day trial

    do you use google toolbar? if not, uninstall it.

    do you need the nokia software running, if not, uninstall it.

    Where did the western digital software come from? Is that from an external usb drive?

    how often do you plug a tom tom into it? The tom tom software is sat there running all the time

    So is windows defender not needed?

    Will do the malware bit after reply about defender if thats ok.

    was thinking about using a better browser so what what would you reccommend, then would not need google.

    Will get rid of nokia as not used now.

    I have an external hard drive but it has not got a bit on it that shows me what is stored on it, I have to set up a retrival folder and was going to get my son to talk me through that.
    Thanks for any help and advice given

    No it's not needed, just use avast, and do manual scans with malwarebytes every so often

    In windows explorer, go to c:\windows\tasks, click on the clean system memory task, schedule, advanced, and change it from every 30 minutes to every 5 minutes, then ok, ok.

    In internet explorer, click on tools, internet options, advanced, disable script debugging to stop this running

    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\VS7Debug\mdm.exe

    uninstalling google toolbar won't stop you using google or your browser, simply set the homepage to www.google.co.uk

    Got rid of defender

    done this;
    In windows explorer, go to c:\windows\tasks, click on the clean system memory task, schedule, advanced, and change it from every 30 minutes to every 5 minutes, then ok,

    uninstalled malware not got it back just yet doing the rest.

    when doing this;
    Find c:\program files\cleanmem\mini_monitor, run it and right click the icon (near the clock) to set it to automatically run at startup, show percentage to keep an eye on your ram use.

    could not see a bit to set it to auto run in start up.

    done this;
    In internet explorer, click on tools, internet options, advanced, disable script debugging to stop this running

    with this
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\VS7Debug\mdm.exe
    had to pick between dreamwezver mx or 4 What one should I pick

    could not see nokia in programmes to be able to remove.
    Thanks for any help and advice given

    uninstall googleupdater, and if you don't use it, photo screensaver too
