I stir homemade jam, lemon curd and sometimes tinned oranges and brown sugar into (homemade) natural yogurt - yum.

You can use natural yogurt in nan bread,
    My recipe is :

    100ml water
    60ml natural yogurt
    280g white bread flour
1 garlic clove finely chopped (optional)
1 tsp black onion seeds (optional)
    1 tsp ground coriander (optional)
    1 tsp salt
    10ml clear honey
    1tsp dried yeast
    1 tbsp chopped corriander (optional)

If you are making these isn the bread maker then add all the wet ingrediants first and the yeast last. Use the dough cycle then knock back gentley and divide into 3 pieces. Shape each into a teardrop shape and bake in a preheated (about 200 degrees) oven 4-5 mins or until they look cooked! You can freeze them so they are a great way of using up fresh yogurt ;)

Pour over diced chicken breasts & marinade for upto 12 hours.
    Stir fry the chicken.

Not really a recipe, but i just thought id add, ive been using up yogurt by making soft cheese. I'm a cheese addict! :p I just drape a muslin cloth over a bowl, put yogurt on cloth and leave it overnight in the fridge. Whey drips through, and whats left is soft cheese. yum :D

    Hi tootoo,

I use it in curries, scones and cakes. We have an existing thread with more ideas so I've added your thread to it to keep the suggestions together.

This is not a recipe but the thread only asks for uses for natural yoghurt. It might be handy with all this beautiful weather because it is fantastic for taking the heat out of sunburn. Don't do what I did some years ago and send BF out for some. I was obviously not too clear and he thought any yoghurt would do. Hazlenut bits are soooo painful when rubbed into tender skin!
  • ive got some natural yoghurt left over from a curry, can i freeze it or do you have a recipe that i can use it up in that you enjoyed ?
