You'll have to let me know if you like it rosie
Make sure you let the mushrooms cool a bit though and don't put them over a high heat after you've added the yoghurt or it goes all bitty and funny!

Hiya I've been to an Asian supermarket and saved lots of money on everything really.
I bought two big tubs of natural yoghurt for 50p!!! can I freeze one or will it be mingling lol
I frozen loads today but mainly worried about the yoghurt as I may not get to use it? Supermarket value price for one is around the same price anyway.Ds2 born 3/4/12 8lbs 8.5:j

I'm planning my meals for next week at the mo and two that I've planned (mushroom stroganoff, using that instead of sour cream, and falafel in pita w/ yoghurt dressing) use low fat natural yoghurt. However, there's no way I'll use a whole 500g tub! Anyone got any veggie (and very very cheap) ideas for the rest of it? I am having a ridiculously cheap week next week as we will spend more the week after for a party we're having.October Grocery Challenge: £20.65/£150

Make some cheats Naan breads - basically mix flour with natural yoghurt to make a softish but not sticky dough. Break lumps off and flatten them to about a 5mm depth, then place under a hot grill till puffed up with brown spots on the first side, turn over and repeat with the other side.0

Coronation chicken for lunches? Yogurt and mayo mixed with some curry powder to taste and a good dollop of mango chutney and some diced cooked chicken, plus sultanas/ flaked almonds if you like.
I do a chicken salad too, with the diced leftovers from a roast plus chopped cucumber, grated carrot, tinned sweetcorn, chopped peppers and that sort of stuff all mixed into a yogurt and mayo dressing. Topped with roasted peppers/gherkins/pickled chillies it's a real fridge dinner! I serve it with crusty bread or toast, depending on what needs using up.They call me Dr Worm... Banana splat? It's very much like a banana split but with yogurt in place of the ice cream
:rotfl: Invented with two grumbling children under my feet it was a huge hit!
