for future reference, if it's still sealed it'll keep well past it's date & you can wait till you have a use for it :)

I often use plain yogurt weeks 'out of date' with no ill-effects

If you have an ice cream machine, get some fruit together (summer berries is perfect: strawberries, raspberries etc.), blend them up into a puree and mix with the yoghurt. Add caster sugar to taste (you want the mixture quite sweet as it will dull down a bit once frozen) and then bung it all in the ice cream machine and freeze once ready.

My boyfriend loves the stuff and will be quite content devouring any yoghurt left in the ice cream machine and mixing bowl aswell! ;)

Well, I used half mixed with some strawberry jam and froze overnight. DD is munching away as we speak *These are lovely mum, can you make some more!*, so I think it's a sucess!

I tasted some and once I got over the *it's yoghurt* taste (!) I thought they were really nice and made a change from the ice pops we usually have.

The yoghurt needs to be used today, so I will definitely use the rest to make more!

    Thanks for all your help!

diced cucumber, tomatoe, onion(small portion, if liked), green chilli (deseeded if chillis are too hot for u), chopped fresh coriander, roughly ground fennel seeds, hint of salt, mix with the yogurt,
very quick, healthy cool and satisfying.
omit anything not liked or add anything else preferred.

hubby brought in natural yougurt in error no-one likes the taste as it is, can any one give some ideas what to do with it probably in the line of sauces but any ideas welcome:confused:
  • I have a couple of dollops on the side of my plate when I'm eating chilli or another hot dish. It helps stop your mouth exploding and is much healthier than soured cream. If you're eating it alongside Indian/Middle Eastern dishes you could stir in some chopped mint or cucumber.

Stir yoghurt into anything you'd like to make a bit creamier - soups, sauces, whatever.

Or stew some fruit and stir it in to make flavoured yoghurt.
