I got the alcatel 801 from orange today for £9.99!!
If you are an existing customer I discovered a cheeky little tip for this phone. I had been told by a girl in the orange shop that you get £10 off all PAYG phones with a trade in (any phone, just has to turn on). I thought great, i've got a monster brick at home that i'll use.
Went back in today (different orange shop), asked for the 801, went through the PAYG upgrade process etc, got to the till and the girl tells me its £19.99 - 'I say what about the £10 trade in for my old handset?' - apparently doesn't apply to the 801 as its in the sale and only recently came down from £39.99. I told them I was under the impression the trade in was for all phones, I had been advised by a different sales assistant etc. The upgrade had already gone through so I don't think it could be reversed. She then went to speak to the manager who gave me the £10 off anyway as a goodwill gesture.
Might be worth a try if you are considering this phone.

This offer is available in store too, when paying by credit/debit card (cash purchases require a £20 top up).0
