All mine were babygrows and knitted jumpers for first couple of months, i too love babys to look like babys.
Im only 29 now and eldest is 11, but still love to see knitted cardigans and babygrows.
My moneysaving tip was cut the feet off and put them socks on when they get to tight, always seem to fit at the top but not at the bottom as they grow, makes them last a few weeks extra, obviously not when i took them out only indoors!!

Both my DGSs now sleep on tummy despite the advice 4 years ago. DS and DD now in mid 20s and beyond say that is how they sleep best. They were both colicky at the time and that was the advice.

I replaced cot mattress for DGS2 plus new moses basket mattress - only slept in twice. DD says not to do it for No 3 in July. She knows our hygiene standards with sheets etc being washed and she knows all OK. When my kids were born only got new matressfor DS1 (family cot) and several visiting children after plus DD1. DD put out mattress after DGS1 for DGS2 and cost £100 plus for new one. She reckons she won't do it for No 3 in July - what do you think? We will happily pay if a shadow of a doubt.

You only go with advice at the time. I would never put any of my darling family at risk!

I agree with the design of children's clothes! I think tummy time on the changing mat from 4 weeks on helps to strengthen the head muscles and stops the floppy head syndrome - did with mine and DGSs.

Commiserations on failing the driving test MD123

Huggles for anniestar and her DH, I think support teachers who have to stand in at short notice should get far more support from the school. We're having major problems with DS's school because of this. They never get told that he has AS so he keeps coming home with detentions for doing things wrong :(

DLB can you not just set fire to the fence and tell her it was an accident ;) I do sympathise as our neighbour was horrible too and tried to poison our dog once.

Nearly my bedtime, I'm just going to have a quick peek on the board first.

FL for tomorrow is posted by the way for all those who were nagging me. DH is off work so we are sharing computer time :D

Wow, just read the whole thread and it took ages!
Absolutely shattered today. Today was my first day back at work since xmas and then the kids and I went over to my parent's house for tea. We didn't get home until after 7pm and then it was bathtime, bedtime and packed-luches etc.
I enjoyed returning to work today as I have missed the children and they were really well behaved and focused. Our topic this term is 'Teddy Bears' and so after reading 'Goldilocks' we made porridge (very OS). Some of the children really enjoyed it and a few went 'yuk'. One child even said 'Have you got any cocopops'!

md123 Sorry to hear about your driving test but one of my friends did the test 8 times before she passed. She ended up marrying the (fairly well-off) owner of the driving school and became a driving instructor herself! :T

dlb Your neighbour should be featured on one of those 'Neighbours from Hell' programmes! What goes around comes around. All of those negative deeds will return to her (I hope).

Anniestar Is there anyone at his new school that he could talk to, perhaps the head of his department? He needs a real boost to his confidence and a few kind supportive words to say how well he is doing would really help.

That was funny, a surprise eviction, especially leaving without any shoes on.

I wont be replacing the mattress in our moses basket, if I ever lucky enough to have another. DD hated the basket and only slept in it for a couple of weeks. I proberbly wouldnt change the cot mattress either but DD has completely wrecked it, somehow she has manged to get underneath it and has folded it in half, its now looking none to healthy and were hoping to get her into a bed asoon as I've made enough money off ebay to decorate her bedroom (Pooh bear, she obsessed).

Evening all, love this thread, just read it all with half an eye on CBB - good job women can multi-task!

anniestar - so sorry to hear your OH's story, teaching is tough when you are feeling well so I can imagine how he is feeling. What union is he in? some have telephone counsellors, actually, some LEA's do as well, confidential of course.

md123 - sorry about the test but great news about the job!

dlb - your neighbour sounds like a nightmare! Have you thought about going to the papers or your MP if the council are being useless?

CBB was so funny - Jackiey half dressed with no shoes! Anyone notice that when Jade was crying Jack didn't go anywhere near her to comfort her?

I am paranoid when DGSs here. If anything happened how could we live with it? Neither DGS did not like Moses basket and tended to sleep with parents early doors (breast feeding made easy I suppose). I had issues about babys should be in own beds and smothering! A different parenting generation. They have done their own thing and no probs now. Boys totally sleep in their own beds. My brother 41 and slept in my parents room until he was 14!!! He had his own bedroom but just wouldn't go there.

Hopefully we all turn out OK.
