I made a cherry cake yesterday, and I wonder if I can freeze it, and if so, how? Would it be OK if I just wrap it in tinfoil?
Yes, you can freeze it. I prefer to use bags for freezing because I can dunk the bag in a bowl of water (carefully) to exclude all the air. You can use foil, but I was reading somewhere about something in the foil leeching into the food (or did I dream that when I was on patches?) Anyway, you could wrap in clingfilm before wrapping it in foil and it should be fine.

Good for you, grannybroon. If I could afford it I would have a cleaning lady too. When my son was little I had a fabulous childminder who happily ironed and cleaned windows etc. She came to our house and only had my son to care for so she felt comfortable doing whatever was needed. She often said that he was out playing in the (safely enclosed) garden so she had little or nothing to do.
At work today and really need a new job. Priority for Friday is to get the Appointments section of the Herald.
Two washings completed, bathroom swiffed and swiped, bins emptied, bills etc dealt with. Tomorrow is takeaway day so no evening meal plan needed but will make a pot of spicy lentil soup to go for DH and I's lunches.
I have been on the end of a neighbour dispute in the past. Does the neighbour on the other side have any problems with them? Better results if there are a couple of you and you stick together.0 -

You sound as though you are having problems. We had neighbour problems about 26 years ago but not since. Neighbour reversed into a friend's car (public street!) because it was his space! Husband clocked him and I was so worried in case charges brought but they weren't thank G*d. We are very pillar of community and conviction would have been awful (not bragging here honest). This followed a long history of us supporting his wife and son when he was on oil rigs for a month at a time and we felt really let down. When you have other folks kid for sleepover because life too much I think we were good neighbours! We have great neighbours now. Being mid-terraced (as we are) you are always vulnerable.

Just waiting for DD so that we can have dinner (pork steaks and roasted veg).
Regarding BB - Please will Leo shut up so that Dirk, or anyone else for that matter, can finish a sentence! Hopefully Jackiey (very strange spelling) will go if there is any justice in this world! Jermaine is lovely isn't he!
How sad am I? It does pass the time though while I knit some more fluffy scarves!
Catz xOur days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

I am a great knitter (or was until about 3-4 years ago). Did a few cardies for DGS1 but the young ones don't seem to want home knitted stuff. As soon as I knew I was pregnant with DS1 knitted a Shetland shawl in 2 ply for him. DD got it for DGS1 but they don't swaddle these days! The oldies will know what I mean. Gap and Next are the trendy places to go. I remember sitting up in December doing Snooker and Xmas trees jumper for my two. Also did knitted dungarees etc! There are hardly any wool shops on the high street now. I used to have several near me. John Lewis used to be fab but next to nothing now - hardly anything in the knitting, material or craft line in Edinburgh.
Do any preggie Mums want me to knit - Valentine?

Good Evening All - Hope we are well
md123 Im so sorry ref your driving test. I learnt to drive in London, and failed my test, eventually, I took it through the ARMY, and they passed me. I was driving through Lewisham, Charlton & Woolwich on my test once at 8.30am, I was failed on the most pathetic excuses. Never mind, you'll get there. If I did - you will!
Amiee totally agree ref big brother, Think Jack will go, as he's not exactly brought anything into the house. And Jackie was soooo out of order, ref immitating Michael, Jermaine is lovely. Even Jade was out of order for asking the questions she did, that was so personal. I liked Leo when he 1st came in, but slowly changing my mind now.
DLB, I heard from our other neighbour, her dispute is still quiet, but apparently "witch" is so skint and so into debt ref the dispute etc, she is having to run to "daddy" for money. So regardless of her fence, I doubt she'll be rushing to get it sorted! Let the council deal with it now. Just bring on the parties as soon as the sun comes out.
Ive had some new stamps come today for my card craft, so I'm going to have a play. Hopefully they should be nice enough to do my mum's wedding invitations.
Good night all - take care

grannybroon I so love to see girls in knitted clothes regardless of their age. My nanna always knitted for me, but sadly she's no longer here. My step-mum knitted for my DD, but that's stopped. Then another lady I know used to knit for us, but she passed away 2 months ago. Its a shame that people these days, either dont know how to, or just dont have the time.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. DLB: ((Hugs)) dont that the ignorant sods get to you.
Grannybroon: I'm 30 and swaddled my DD and have a friend of my late mums that knits for her. Also agree about the satisfaction of a line of white nappies although we used shaped and not terry squares.
Been at work all day so not much OS going on. Its the end of the working week today and its the best half of the week tomorrow, mummy time. Got a list as long as my arm of jobs to-do. Going to do my meal plan and shopping list in a minute then I'm having a soak in the bath with a large G&T, the rest will have to wait until tomorrow afternoon while DD having a nap.Sorting my life out one day at a time0 -
