My mum still knits for my 2, she made them some beautiful ponchos last year - they love them to bits and wear then like dressing gowns.

Personally I love to see a baby in knitted stuff - what with my mum, my sis, my 4 aunts and with DD1 - both of my grandmothers knitting and crocheting, I ended up with some beautiful stuff (some god awful stuff too from my sister who thought that lime green and petrol blue knitted dungarees would be great for my DD  ) I hate seeing baby's all uncomfortable looking in jeans and sweatshirts -- plenty of time for that when they're older - give me a good old fashioned pram set and bonnet anyday!

Just managed to bag a few good finds on freecycle - will be collecting about 4 bits at the weekend - there's never normally anything we need but just recently everything seems to have broken....always the way.

Really haven't got very far today at all - day 6 of this flu and it really has taken it out of me - I've managed to get meals on the table and put some washing away, that's about it - mind you - there's nothing urgent that needs doing and for the first time in years I don't have to be anywhere or do anything and DD's are big enough to get to school and back on their own, means I can just rest......DH had realised that he's not going to be going back to work this week either - never seen him so poorly.

We've been invited to friends for the weekend, hopefully we'll feel up to it - they live near my parents so have arranged to pop to mums for lunch on Sunday - means no food to worry about all weekend. Got loads of christmas choccies left so won't go empty handed...a box of chocs always goes down well.

Hugs to those in need - for the rest of you.

Thanks for everyones kind words on me failing my driving test today. Have rebooked and have my test on 13th February, so hopefully will pass then.

I did get some good news today. I went for a job interview about six weeks ago for a youth worker position and never got the job. However, today I got a phone call telling me 2 further positions have come up on different nights and I have been offered them both (without a further interview). Start that on Monday, so that will be good. Can always do with extra money.

    Evening everyone,

Not much going on today - just been applying for jobs. There is one in the paper for something I really want to do, so have been working on that for quite a while. Im going to admit something awful here - I think Ive found the reason why I havent been getting any interviews etc - I've been writing my f***ing letters wrong!!! Putting my address in the wrong place   I must have written my template out, then just completely overlooked it as I changed each letter. Anyway, its sorted now and hopefully things will buck up - have an interview on January 15th.

Part for the WM is out of stock, so that didnt happen today. Put a towel wash on this morning and that has been drying all day.

Well, I hope you had a good one.

I think you go into 'edit' mode on one of your posts and you can delete the whole thing from there.

Not much different than usual happening today so not much to mention about it. just wanted to send *hugs* to the people and their families who are not feeling well. Also - dlb: don't let your neighbour get to you - if she's being like that it just shows what kind of a person she is to be acting that way, and other people can/will see that.

Also, isn't it fun seeing all the new 'collection' threads appearing? I think its cool watching to see what gets started :D

I must admit I like baby's looking like babys. My two were in gown for at least first two weeks as that was how we did it. I remember when DGS was born and Mackays so full of combat gear for newborns - awful! I was the romper suit era!!!!!! I am sure a few of you will remember that.

I was told by my Health Visitor that its "Back to Sleep and Front to Play". It had gotten to the point that mums were so terrified to put there LO's on there front that there has been a big rise in flat head syndrome. My niece had this i a mild form so I was careful to give DD some tummy time. At the age of 2 she always sleeps on her front and always lies on her front to watch the TV, I think she takes after her dad hes currently lying on the sofa on his front watching some rubbish on Sky!

DD is a winter baby so she spent the first few months of her life in babygrow with those snuggly toweling vest that you can only get from Mothercare underneath and a variety of hand knitted cardigns over the top. Several of my friends bought us top with hoods on for her. She wore one, once they are a complete pain the bum, the hood just ends up bunched around the babies neck, I swear that most people who design childrens clothes must be childless!
