    Hi trinidadone,

Yes, I saw a member of staff from TT visits here regularly so decided to posted this on here in the hope that they may respond to me. I am at the end of my tether, TT really are rubbish! I have tried to register on their forum but apparently my account number is not recognised grrr! I am fed up of trying to get someone at TT with a poor command of the English language to try and set up my home move, to be honest, I don't think the people on the end of the phone have the first idea what they are doing or talking about. Each person has told me something different! Complete and utter nightmare, I cannot wait for my contract to end so I can leave them!

I can see it is very stressful for you. I guess there is two issues here:

    1) to get you connected to the talktalk forum where problems are adressed much quicker than this site.

    2) Most important for you, is to be connected to talktalk broadband and phone to your new home with out the cost and challenges of a new line.

the staff on the forums, and on here are highly experienced staff, they will assist you, i promice.
Trinidad - I have a number of needs. Don't shoot me down if i get something wrong!!

Hi Ems112, I can totally sympathise with you.
The TalkTalk Company Representative is noticeable by his absence, presumably because he's not capable of sorting out the problems that the posters on here this year have got.
I wouldn't recommend TalkTalk to my worst enemy. I'm with Onetel (owned by TalkTalk) and their email customer service (done via MyAccount) is handled by TalkTalk's offshore Customer Service in India. They haven't got a clue and don't always respond. They do not seem to understand what you've said to them and just respond with the nearest standard answer to your problem.
Fortunately the telephone customer service is in the UK, they are great.
If they ever migrate the Onetel customer base into TalkTalk, I shall completely dump all their services.

yes it been a nightmare, not going to go in to most of it, but absolutely awful customer services.
anyway have now got phone and broadband and it works.
but issue is when i signed up it was for the £9.50 line rental (£114 paid up front)
    and halfprice broadband £3.25.
but have been charged the £13.80 for phone and £6.50 broadband.
all what i have got out of them is a offer of a refund of the credit on the accout (as i paid upfront the bills have just been taken off that)
so i feel some what aggrieved.
but can i really try to fight through this as their cutomer services really do get your head banging that proverbial brick wall

Does anyone from MSE appreciate what is going on with VLR ?
There are some (many ?) of us who signed up together with essentials, but TT will NOT honour the contract. Consequently, we have been overcharged. TT response is to start all over again (with a new contract) which causes mass confusion and frustration. You end up with different contract dates and variation of prices of what was previously agreed.
Why can't TT just make a simple adjustment .
I think you can read into this that I would not recommend TalkTalk.

I have to admit that I have never come across a company with such poor staff in their customer services department. Even when you write and point out that you dont have an account with TT they reply with a letter saying that they can only deal with it if given an account number. They wrote to my mother who does not have an account or telephone with TT to say that they where going to take some advance payment for her TT telephone service and would use an old DD to take the money. I cancelled the DD and they then wrote asking her to reinstate it. If you try to talk on the phone they say they can only talk to the account holder. This is after asking loads of security questions which have no relevance to the phone call. Talk Talk obviously do not employ people with any common sense so it is no wonder they again received the wooden spoon for customer complaints from the Dail Mail

so right, i am one of them, trying to get it corrected but have got same answer as everyone else.
funny how i started the complaint with "i do not want to go in circles with this one" to get the answer sir, We are not going round in circles as we are yet to complete a single revolution.
i think its been round many times by now.

it is really beyond belief that they cannot just correct a bill?

Talk Talk have now threatened to put in restrictions to the telephone service to my mother if she does not set up a Direct Debit and pay an advance sum for line rental. What a joke as she does not have a telephone service with Talk Talk ! :(
  • Hi all,

I moved over to Talk Talk some time ago, initial change over had severe problems, line was cut off, number got changed, broadband would not work, customer service was terrible, after much frustration finally got connected only to find speed was very slow, complained and complained over and over again, got absolutely nowhere! Tried to cancel and got hit with the threat of a big cancellation fee, after months of letters and phone calls with massive amounts of stress, I finally got rid of this terrible company.
My new provider is brilliant, easy connection, great customer support, half the price of Talk Talk and 10 x plus the broadband speed! brilliant.
My only problem now is that when I switched over to Talk Talk I also switched my elderly parents over, at the time they did not have anywhere near the problems I experienced, not to say it was not trouble free because there were problems, but as they were in a different part of the country their switchover and service seemed better, however! about 3 months ago I decided to get my parents to switch over to my new provider because it was much cheaper, my parents by this time are well and truly out of the contract period by a long time, and their bills kept rising so I switched my parents over (very easy and straight forward) they now have faster broadband and cheaper everything by a mile, They then get hit with a £78 break of contract fee from Talk Talk, We found out that Talk Talks staff in India were phoning up people nearing their contract expiry and trying to get them to renew, my elderly parents had such a phone call but declined the renewal some months previous, apparently the staff fraudulently renew it anyway because of bonuses they get for renewal, my parents have now received threatening demands from Talk Talk and now CLS debt recovery to pay up or else, I have tried to take over the dealing of this but Talk Talk refuse to deal with me even though my father has written to them asking me to act on his behalf, my father has a heart condition and has recently been taken ill, the doctor reckons its stress, the only thing causing great worry to my parents right now is these threats from CLS debt recovery due to this fraud from Talk Talk, they could just pay up and stop the stress, but why should they when they don't owe the money? Talk talk are nothing but evil villains, their complaint process does not work, they deliberately ignore letters even when sent recorded. This is one very nasty company to deal with, I have since heard thousands of horror stories similar to ours, I really don't know why anyone would rate this company at all when there are much better deals to be had with genuine nice companies.
By the way, we moved to Plusnet and its brilliant, if you fancy the move you could use my user name when you sign up to say I recommended you, its "klazix"
