OH feeling peckish and eating the ham out of the fridge.
I say oh well theres your sandwhiches and a fiver gone. He says bl**dy hell a fiver. He has no concept of what anything costs, moans when he finds out but continues to eat a pack of ham.:rotfl:
you spend £5 on ham! :eek:Metranil_Vavin wrote: »I cannot express how much it hurts paying off someone else's ex wife's debts from my hard earned savings!
I can't believe you are paying off someone else's debt, thats shocking. what are you getting out of it?!
my husband's worst moneysaving habit is paying the minimum towards his CC, £5 - so when they add on the interest it takes him over the limit and he gets a £12 fee. this has been going for on for 3 years, and he could have paid off the card a few times over with the £12 fees he has been paying! I'm sick of explaining it to him, and he doesnt open the letters anymore but I can tell what they are just from the envelope!0 -
My OH is pretty good with money & spends very little on himself. The only thing that does drive me up the wall is not claiming his expenses back from work on time - we must lose hundreds of £ a year. He also pays for his work mobile phone £30ish a month most of which he can claim back as he makes very few personal calls/texts but hasn't done so once in 2 years. Just says he'll get round to it but doesn't have the time. I've offered to do it for him but then he gets huffy!0

Yep £5 on ham normally lasts the week. He is out at work for three meals a day and takes alot of sandwhiches.0 -
When he buys games for either the Xbox360 or Playstation... He says "I can buy it for £10 then sell it for £10.50" I tell him it would cost more to get up to town to sell the stuff so there's not much point in it.
He's doing better with some things though, we now do online shopping at asda coz it would cost £6 to get there so we pay £3 for delivery instead. I've taught him to look at price per kilo to see what works out the cheapest.Savings £8,865.22 £/15,000 Aiming to save enough for a house deposit.0 -
Spending 'his' money on his cigarette card collection.
Always just 4 more to get.....Our Family Motto ~If all else fails - read the instructions...

OH is quite good except for:
Spending money on cigarettes
Spending money on scratchcards
and sneaking things into the trolley when we do a food shop - 'coz it only costs a £1' - yes dear, but it's when you buy ten things that only costs a £1, that's when we go over budget!! Lately he's been working on days I do a food shop, so it normally comes in under budget!0 -

In our house i'm responsible for all the bills which to be honest is becoming a huge strain on me. My hubby just burries his head in the sand and leaves it to me. I'm sure he thinks i can just magic money out of somewhere!
When my OH ate several £s worth of pandano cheese in one go I put a post it with the price of the pack on it. He was a bit shocked when he realised and hasn't done it again.0 -
Earning twice my salary, therefore we split mortgage and bills in a 2:1 ratio - he never understood how this left me way worse off than him in terms of disposable income.
Never taking out an ISA because 'I don't want to lock my money away' and therefore paying 40% tax on his savings interest.
Tries to convice me that he pays for all sorts of things that he doesn't e.g. phone and utilities bills. Funny how the direct debits come out of my account then...
