Tell him... if he's a good friend, even if nothing happens there won't be any awkwardness.
This thread has made me even happier with my decision to go on the donor list, I hope it all works out for you xxThe frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
Any tips? Should I get it all over with at once or should I tell him about how bad the illness is tomorrow and leave everything else for another day?
And if i'm leaving it, how long should I give him?0 -

Hun, tell him everything all at once. Let him know that you love him, you have nothing to lose. I think (even though I don't know him) he loves you too and as more than a just friend. Enjoy your time together before you go back home. Knowing that you were truly happy before going should also give your family and friends and yourself strength in this difficult time. It's better to regret something I did do than to regret something that I didn’t. :EasterBun0 -
I think it's a case of all or nothing
You will need to come back and let us know how it goes! The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
Another vote for everything at once. Difficult, but definitely the right thing to do. Hope your heart finds you soon.x0

I think you should tell him, it will be a shock for him but either he'll feel the same way about you or he'll hopefully contiune to be a good friend. I hope you do get a transplant hun. And i hope you can have some happiness from this relationship. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

My sympathies, this must be a difficult situation for you. I think you should tell him. He's going to be upset either way if you do and he might then face the same dilemma of wanting to tell you how he feels.
I've just confirmed with my boyfriend that this makes sense, we were in a similar situation before we started going out, except I wasn't ill. He's actually very worried now that there's something seriously wrong with me, despite me stressing it's a hypothetical situation!Thank you competition posters!

Every one of us has a lot to give, but by and large complacency gets in the way. GlasweJen, I cannot imagine that you are complacent now. Go for it. You have weighed up the issues, you know what the risks are and the possible downsides. Go for it gently and kindly, I know you will not coerce - but don't hold back on going for it. It is going to require a lot of courage from him. If your judgement about him is right, he will have that courage.
He may not have the courage - in which case you will not have lost anything. But if he has the courage, you will both gain everything.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0
