  • Oh deary me!! apologies to the OP, this this thread has turned into a bit of a joke, the seller is going to go to the police? i have never heard so much rubbish in my life, the Police would never take on a case like this. if anything the seller would have to go to a small claims court to try and do anything!

My advice, listen to the likes of Soolin and hermum, these people seem to know what they are talking about.

it pretty obvious you will get your money back so i wouldnt even worry about "police threats" its pretty easy to make up police numbers, actually i just reported this thread, the number is 5569842! get my point?

from both sides of the story, if you have swapped the bag and a scammer yourself then shame on you.

if the seller has tried to scam you then shame on them.

I highly doubt that the postman/woman carries a cheap bag with them everyday just incase he happens to open every package and see an expensive bag to swap it with!

I don't even know I just assumed I may have to. If she appeals against ebays decision involving the police will they take the money out of my account again? Sorry I know I sound stupid but I just don't want to lose this money

You wont. Calm down have a cup of tea and wait for the decision. Ignore all the stuff about the Police thats likely to be a figment of their imagination.

  • Just sitting on the fence and thinking about this (devils advocate and all) - could I ask (nervously may I add as I am not accusing anyone of anything) -what is the seller is genuine, has sent the right bag, and something has gone wrong not by her instigation or control?
As the seller, would you not also be most upset and out of pocket to have carefully wrapped and sent an expensive bag, only to have this happen (however it may of happened)?

If it were me, as the seller, I would be hopping mad and most certainly trying every avenue (police ebay etc) to protect myself? I can see why the seller here may be acting in the way the OP reports.

Likewise, if it were me, as the buyer, I would be doing the same as the OP and trying to find out what has happened whilst reclaiming my money.

Whatever has happened here, by whomever has done it, I feel very sorry for the person who will end up innocently out of pocket. Clearly something has gone very wrong, and I just hope that the right outcome occurs.

I can see both sides though. CC xx

The only real alternative to seller being dodgy is that the OP is, and we had a long (now quite rightly removed) discussion about this last week. The possibility of buyer being a scammer and then coming on here to talk about it is remote. The only other possibility is that the post office opened the wrapping without knowing what was inside and without leaving any marks on the packaging, went out, bought another bag and then resealed the packaging.

    Really?

The fact that the seller is making all this nonsense up about the police taking fingerprints etc I think clearly indicates who is at fault, and it isn't the OP.

OP has the tracking updated to delivered, or attempted delivery even? As I believe that's all you need for a return.

Hi sorry I haven't updated you guys, net has been down :(
Well I posted the bag back on Tuesday with the pre-paid parcel force thing and eBay called me yesterday to say that because they could see the bag was on it's way they made a final decision to favor the buyer :) however I've obviously not heard the last of the seller who now wants to come and search my house for the bag, I said if your going to come then dont tell me in advance just turn up and have a look around, she wasn't happy with what I said n so said the police will be over, again I said that was fine as I have nothing to hide so feel free to send them down whenever.

I'm glad that it's been settled in your favour.
Hopefully she'll soon get fed up with contacting you.
Don't mention a dispute in the feedback you leave for her.

Goodness, thinking of something politically correct to say here is causing me problems..I do hope though that your seller gets help for her fantasy scenario life.
