She wants it fingerprinted cos she says the police will never find her fingerprints on the bag

Of course the police have nothing better to do than that, & have the resources to spend on finger printing bags.
She needs to take it up with RM if she thinks that it was swapped while in the post.

That's what I've said but it's no longer my problem! But it hacks me off that she's throwing around insults that im a thief, her case will not be made any stronger I'm sure! Silly woman! I vow never to buy a high price item on eBay again :) oh and she has already contacted the police and got a crime number but I said I'll give all necessary and she can deal with the rest
  • It looks like she tried to pull a fast one and doing anything she can do to make herself look the innocent party. All the post's have given good advice. Just do as EBay say and you will get your money back. Also as posted before, contact your credit card provider as your backup. EBay is still the best selling place around but you do have to be careful and it is reliant on TRUST most of the time. EBay own Paypal and the seller will be high on Ebay's radar in the future. As for the Police, take the fingerprint crap with a pinch of salt. There is no such thing as a Detective in the system anymore. I think you will have your money back sometime this month, so just be patient.
On the parcel front, I would check its a guaranteed signed for one, or send it special as said already. Just for peace of mind

I would love to know how she got a crime number when no crime has been committed. Even if the OP was a scam artist (which I do not believe), then there is no crime until the bag is returned and the money refunded!
One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.

It's no doubt a scare tactic, she sounds like a very strange individual. As the price she paid to post it apparently corresponds exactly to the weight of the bag the OP received then she must have reported a crime that she commited.

Thanks guys :) I'm gonna post the bag off today special delivery but I still don't know why eBay provided me with a pre-paid parcel force sticker. She has had the police involved from day 1 apparently but I said to her it's her word against mine. What should i say to my cc company to be on the safe side?

AS per all the rest of the thread- why do you need do anything else at this time other than send it back tracked?

I would do NOTHING else - why are you even talking to your CC company if you have been promised an ebay refund?

I don't even know I just assumed I may have to. If she appeals against ebays decision involving the police will they take the money out of my account again? Sorry I know I sound stupid but I just don't want to lose this money

Ask at the post office about the pre paid label, as it could be that it's for the tracked service.
Make sure that the signature is viewable online & is insured to cover the amount you paid for the bag.
