I'm pleased so many people have tried. The internet is great for things being so instant.
I did ask someone today to ask her brother, who is 26, when she sees him over the bank holiday.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
Hi there. Before you ask; 22 years old, Male (I feel so used! lol)
With the formalities out of the way… I am seriously considering signing up but I was wondering whether you knew where best to a little more information. I’m struggling to find some clear guidelines as to the procedure if and when an individual is discovered as a match (and verified beyond blood tests, etc.) The NHS Choices site and the AnthonyNolan site provide some information but do not entirely corroborate e.g.
“Can I find out what’s happened to the patient?
Following the donation, you can receive updates on your patient’s progress. After a two year confidentiality period, and subject to a request from the patient, some donors and patients meet.”
– Source; AnthonyNolan.org website
“Anonymity
…Also, under European law, personal details regarding the recipient of bone marrow donations must remain anonymous and you will not be able to meet or talk to them.”
– Source; NHS Choices website
Do you have any suggestions as to the best place to educate myself some more?
Thanks in advance0 -
Hiya,

And another female registered... hope they will accept my applicationMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0

If you post specific questions on this thread, I will pass them on to Anthony Nolan. If I can I will see if I can get an official representative to join MSE and to comment on the thread.
