*Update* Saffagal's sister is in urgent need of a bone marrow donor (see post dated 30th March). If you've ever thought of joining the register and haven't got around to it yet...please join up now.
I have signed up to Anthony Nolan's Get10 campaign to recruit 10 young men between the ages of 18 - 30 to join the bone marrow register.
But I don't know any! DS is too young. For various reasons, DH won't, but he does give blood even though he feels sick at the thought, so I am grateful for that.
Can any of you help, please?
Details are here: http://www.anthonynolan.org/spit
I've been on the bone marrow register for about 20 years, but have never been called for it.
Thank you for reading.

:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.

I've also been on 20 years and never got called. Would encourage anyone to support this - I grew up in the same area as Anthony and remember all the local papers carrying his story at the time, long before he sadly died0

my bro in law needed a bone marrow transplant - by the time they tested ALL family members - it was too late. But, they are on the database! the prob is that the age restriction precluded a LOT of people who were willing to donate! I dont understand that! If you are good health why would being a year younger or older than their SET guidelines put you outside the donor list?0

I would ask my OH, but he's still cross at me for signing up to donate my organs after death.The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0

When there was that thread about the terminally ill teenager on here I got Junior to sign up.
I'm also on the register and got asked once to give a further blood sample as I might have been a potential match but it didn't come to anything.2014 Target;

I am not a man but I am on the list to donate and have never been contacted yet. Hopefully in the future they will. This is such a worthwhile thing to do.٩(•̮̮̃•̃)۶ ٩(-̮̮̃-̃)۶ ٩(●̮̮̃•̃)۶ ٩(͡๏̯͡๏)۶ ٩(-̮̮̃•̃)۶ :EasterBun0

I signed up to be on the list when I gave blood even though I'm female and 38....People seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

I'm sorry to say it's one of those things that's been at the back of my mind to do for years, but it seems I left it too late. I just tried to register and it said no, as I am over 40, so there's a lesson not to just leave it for another day.Cash not ash from January 2nd 2011: £2565.:j
OU student: A103 , A215 , A316 all done. Currently A230 all leading to an English Literature degree.
Any advice given is as an individual, not as a representative of my firm.0
