good post Dinah-well done!--just one point about alcohol-as a man of Mr Bs age i drink quite a lot of red wine--2 bottles a night with my wife pinching some--it is a de-stressor for me and helps me face the trauma they call work and life! i work 6 days a week and teach 200 students and iam sure Mr B consumes for simular reasons!
I note that you are a MFW - you ought to put your consumption of wine into the demotivator tool as it is probably costing you upwards of £50 a week and that is upwards of 95 units of alcohol per week.
I do hope you aren't driving to work in the morning.
I would just like to add that I don't think MrB drinks anything like that amount according to his diary, and I am a great believer in a little bit of what you fancy does you good, my mine concern with your post de1amo is I fear it is a bit more than a little.0 -
With the kids merrily encamped in the lounge staying up way past their bedtime I sneaked out back to do the finances and hopefully lob a snowball or two but have realised that without Mrs B in the house it cannot happen, for want of a better metaphor, we have the balls but not the snow. My wages cover most of the expenses and a bit left to service the min payments on a few of the cards, but Mrs B has all the capacity in her account which thanks to the HSBC widget/dongle thingy she has taken out with her (we don't dare leave it around or else the boy would eat it) I cannot access her account. Doh!
Anyways, back to the Disney Channel for me.2011: 301k in debt and morbidly obese (DFW)

Mr B you make me smile so much. I love catching up with your diary. Thank you for brightening up my day.
I would also just like to say that it is a proven fact that red wine lowers your blood pressure (and if it isn't please don't anybody burst my balloon) and as for the demotivator, well there are some things that just help a person to move along the debt busting a little easier and life needs to be a balance. Yes there are some people with a lot of debt but that doesnt mean that a little treat cant be had. After all, if we all lived with hair shirt minimalism all of the time we would soon fall off the debt busting wagon completely. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. With Mrs B home and tucked up in bed I've started October off with a weigh-in and am once again 22-07 and BMI 38.42. By the end of this month I want both those stats down around the 22-00, 38-00 mark. Am leaving the snowballing til tomorrow, but want that to have an equally dramatic dent on the debt. Cos of work I'm gonna have to be a hairshirter for the next 7 days piously drinking tap water, but then come this time next week a massive cloud will be lifted one way or another - either it will have unleashed and drenched me, or else my cunning plan will dissapate it. I wonder what the psychologist would say about it all. Probably "give me back my pen you awkward b*gger".2011: 301k in debt and morbidly obese (DFW)

Unfortunately De1amo has been "told off" good and proper for drinking and driving in the past.....

It is a good point you make and could save a huge amount of money per month as well as the calories and the impact on health:eek::eek::eek:I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
First thing I did when I got back from my 4k blast this morning was check Eurosport's schedule - had a horrible feeling that alongside their usual gripping portfolio of events like Moto GP, badminton, waitressing, driving tests, etc they had bought the rights (in a deal probably brokered by the Matrix ladies) to Fat Bloke Running in London - Live!, cos there was a helicopter that was hovering over me throughout the entire duration of my run, and it sounded a bit wonkier than the usual police ones, and as soon as I got in, it went on its wonky way elsewhere. However, having checked the listings it appears this was not the case.
Been an overwhelmingly positive week on the weightloss front - down again to 22-06, BMI 38.28. When I get under the magic 20 stone mark (something I'm hoping will occur around February) I'm going to really step up the training to 5k most weekday mornings and 2 10k blasts at the weekend.
That Shed is looking mighty tempting right now - ripe to be picked, and you never know, the Eurosport cameras might come back for the preliminary rounds of GB Shed Tetris.2011: 301k in debt and morbidly obese (DFW)
