I'm with Butti:) I felt the same when I got back to swimming at the gym - couldnt stand the public swimming pool -and I do occasionally go for a 'steep walk' on the tread mill. All those 'gym bunnies' ( bucks and does) almost put me off at first but I stuck to it when I finally realised that most of them where probably 25 years younger than me, but looked if not the same age but older ( sun beds dont help I guess :)) and a I got my knckered knees and a sun tan through good old honest outdoor pursuits. Not sure where the weight came from - crept up as knees gave in I think. So forget about Twiglet Man and keep focussed ;)

I quite like Twiglets BTW - but not oversized ones

Next year grow your own pumpkin - you might have enough to sell to your childrens friends:rotfl:

I used to go to a gym in Oxford when I was a student and weighed about 13.5-14 stone. I used to be surrounded by preened and polished and slim women. Then this girl who must have been 5.5 stone ringing wet used to come and stand infront of me so that you could see me in the mirror out of both sides of her.

Used to really insense me. She must have been anorexic. I was standing there thinking she shouldn't be allowed in this class, she should be lying down and being intravenously fed high fat milk shakes.

Just come across your diary Mr B and wanted to say I think you're going a fantastic job! Well done for sticking at it and with such a positive attitude too. Agree with the other posters above, ignore Twiglet Man, you are going in the right direction and the fitness will only get easier the more pounds you shed. Look forward to reading your progress. Keep going, we're all behind you on here !

Done some more shed harvesting and retrieved the final batch of CDs - most will be destined for musicmagpie but some of the more rarer ones are turning up a nice price on ebay. Now have 25 items listed on my spreadsheet ready to paste over the next time there's free listings on the bay - their total value according to completed prices is £828.56. So even at the most conservative estimate I could be sitting on enough vinyl to kill off a whole credit card.

The venture to the dark side (the farm shop) went well - pumpkin purchased and tractors avoided. The heat is lovely but is tiring out DS and DD quite profusely - but it is sure keeping them Sunday blues at bay.

Free listing is still here right now! And there's a lot of rumbling that auctions scheduled to finish on Sunday evening do best of all! If you choose a 7 day auction, you could do quite a few now! If you have the time, its really worth doing *some* now - people really are beginning to think about Christmas :)

Agree with Karma on the scheduling - NEVER list anything that will finish during big TV programmes/events - Dr Who, Downton Abbey, X Cr*ptor, Strictly Unnecessary, football etc. List a few tonight to give buyers a taste - if you put them all on at once there will be too much choice - for example I NEVER sell 2 similar Boden items at the same time :)

Be proud of your mismatches outfits. No matter how good I get I will never, ever buy confirmist outfits, and I will be very cross if you crack and do so

Didn't go down the ebay route - I have a challenging week (which if not from hell, is from someplace close to it - like Canvey Island) and so can't get distracted by anything other than running and this diary. As I'm going to list everything at under 99p then I think I escape listing fees anyway, and am going to schedule my first 100 records to be closing on the Sunday night before my holiday starts so I can spend the Monday packing and posting. Am going through the stock to get the most valuable stuff, want that out of the way first, then by the end I might only be making 20p or so on the postage. Need to count up how much stock I have and then bulk buy the packaging. Every time I plug in a record and see a recent sold price of over a tenner I get very happy - most expensive one so far in my collection is The Golden Dawn's (you won't have heard of them) "My Secret World" which sold a fortnight ago for £100 - not bad for a 7"single that cost me £2 25 years ago.

So fingers crossed Operation Shed will prove to be a worthwhile one. Plus I have about 2 fairs worth of stuff to boot. Am looking forward to that more than anything - a happy childhood memory of mine is doing the bootfair at Brighton station carpark with my Dad - loved the atmosphere of the marketplace, really thought I would have a career doing something like that.

I forgot about how intense the week is that you've got coming up, MrB - I'm slightly worried that when you *do* do the listing, however, you're going to put really expensive stuff on at 99p ... please please remember, ebay is uncertain!

Anyway, bother to all that - I'm sure 95% will reach your projected price, and you'll be able to throw it at one of the expensive cards :j

Thats lovely to think of the fairs with your dad - hope you enjoy doing them now when you've got them lined up.

    Take it easy this week!
