Finally something moneyworthy to report from Bloater HQ and it's a good 'un - just checked online account and pay is in, but it's £150 more than I'd budgeted for. Will have to forensically examine payslip when it arrives and check it's not some mistake but it's a nice feeling to end the month with, it's there and hopefully it won't be taken away from me.
It must be exactly how my educational psychologist felt back in primary school, on my first visit to him I stole his very impressive pen that had 4 different coloured nibs, selected by some clever multicoloured switch thing on the top (it wasn't technically stealing as it had British Gas emblazoned on the side and so as a 7 year old I quite rightly reasoned to myself that as a freebie from what was then still a nationalised industry the pen belonged to all of us). The second time I was frogmarched to the staffroom to see him I'd coincidentially brought the pen along as well, and the look of hope in his eyes when he saw me holding the pen was cruelly dashed when I put it back in my pocket.
So I'm hoping my hope isn't cruelly dashed by payroll cos that's another 150 I could make a nice big fat snowball with.
Years later when I started a paper round I got the posh houses at the distant top end of our estate and as any paper boy/girl will tell you - The Sunday Times is the devil's own for getting through letterboxes. I had a particularly robust way of dismantling and ramming it through the letterboxes and whilst brutally efficient, there wasn't much margin for error. After one particularly loud rip a door swung open and a man (resplendant in dressing gown, flip-flops and accompanied by a tiny old lady) was about to remonstrate with me, but then I saw that look of cruel dashment again as I explained to the Psychologist that it wasn't my fault he had a big paper and a small letterbox. He cancelled the delivery and our paths never crossed again.
And this tale from the archive has been brought to you cos I overslept (due to the excellent wine so it was well worth it) and hence missed my run. BMI dropped a tad again today tho to 38.39 and weight still at 22-07. Good times.2011: 301k in debt and morbidly obese (DFW)

Here's a cuppa tea :coffee: while you work out if work are going to nab the £150 back, hope it *is* yours.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
It's good that you aim to run every day Mr B, but I don't think you are going to get grief from those of us who try to get out once or twice a week!
Well done thus far.

Just to say that I intend to plagiarise without any possibility of an apology that paragraph about the Sunday Times - brings me back a bit. Hilarious!0
