  • Back to moneysaving with a vengeance today - dinner was a batch cooked spagbog, another NSD, and another dry night as I'm off to my teetotal neighbour's house to watch the Brighton match. So the Bloaters are back on track.

Good work - sounds like you are all really making progress, well done :T
  • Uh-oh! Somehow slept through til 5.20 and hence missed my running slot. Feeling a little bit twitchy as this is third non-run day of the week - unheard of on the Bloater exercise spreadsheet. Am going to have to have a brutal three days ahead to get my weekly average mileage up to a respectable figure. Been plugging away at this diary for a month now - will post a before and after stats blast tonight to see how much progress has been made both in terms of shifting the chub and losing the debt.
  • Looking forward to the progress update Mr B, you missed a lovely stary morning (felt like night) today. Tripped over the dog a couple of times i was so busy looking up...
Weight: need to lose 71lbs - lost to date 0lbs

  • Look forward to the progress reports, Mr B :)
I did my first jog last night, managed a couple of miles around the mean streets of Lancaster! I'd like to be able to tackle a half marathon eventually. Bit of a way to go methinks!

Have a quick walk at lunchtime, MrB, just up and down for 10 mins; you must have needed the sleep tho.

  • Mr B,

You have well motivated me to start running again. I have even planned our phase one and two on WJR. Just now need to haul !!! out of bed one morning and get that first attempt under my belt!!

Three days is but the blink of an eye, you should be well proud of what you have acheived in your first month, so many changes and positive opportunism every step of the way.

You will be to MSE what Ryan Giggs is to Man U, a living legend.

P.S. Brighton can hold their heads high after last nights performance.
Was in debt £23k- Not now (12/07-12/10):T
Did smoke- Not any more (26-02-11):j
I am not perfect but everyone loves a trier don't they??:A

  • Mr Bloater's Stats Blast Month 1 (23rd August - 22nd September)

    Total debt
    Was: £301.6k
    Is: £299.8k

    Credit Card debt
    Was: £48.2k
Is: £48.5k (yikes, it went up. But not a surprise considering a paycut, back-to-school expenses and the end of the summer holiday. Plus 2 tyres)

    Loan debt
    Was: £28.6k
    Is: £26.9k

    Overdraft
    Was: 3.3k
    Is: 3.5k (gadzooks!)

    Mortgage
    Was: £221.4k
    Is: £220.8k

    Weight
    Was: 23.06 stone / BMI 40.00
    Is: 22.10 stone / BMI 38.71

    Major fear about this diary
Was: Mrs B finding out about it
Is: The Matrix ladies putting the hex on me cos this thread is looking likely to overtake theirs on the amount of page views in the next couple of weeks.

It is absolutely the worst time of the month to do such a stats feast, had I waited another week until both myself and Mrs B had been paid I could have painted a far rosier picture - but it's this end of the month when things are at their tightest with the interest going on the CC's and the money running out - in terms of pure expenditure we are way down on previous months and we know exactly where everything went. NSDs are a great idea and I only wish we'd picked up on them earlier. Alcohol-free days are a terrible idea and I'm only thankful we didn't pick up on them earlier. (5th blooming day in a row without even a sniff) When payday hits, then we are going all out snowballing to kill off one of the cards if possible. The debts were always going to get slightly worse before they get better, we go into this next month armed with all the knowledge we have gleaned from MSE over the 4 weeks. I confidently predict we'll have another 2k smashed off the total this time next month, but with ALL the balances facing downwards. Am off now to celebrate with a cup of tea and will be glued to the Sky+ box to ensure Glee gets recorded for Mrs B.

More positives there than negatives. Long may it last! Hope you are looking forward to getting stuck in!
