The Bloaters have jumped off the MSE bandwagon for a night in an attempt to bring some life back to the house - so we're putting the Friday into Tuesday and ordering a takeout. It will be worth every penny.

We had chippy tea tonight cos i've been run ragged with DGD all day, and it was worth every penny too:p:p

Two for Tuesday at a certain Pizza chain - so that's still money saving (sort of). ;)
  • The Hut did us proud - Two for Tuesday was eminently more fun than our frugal Friday and certainly did lift a cloud that's been a-hanging around. For the first time ever after a pizza blowout my stomach is not bloated and I am not feeling guilty about the excess of calories or expenditure. I am veritably Cheshire Cat-like in my grinningness and didn't feel the urge to jump straight on the scales to provide myself with data I could then beat myself up with. Which is an improvement.

Also 4th dry day in a row - which is beneficial in proving to me that I'm less reliant on it than I feared, indeed the only addiction I seem to have these days is the running, am really looking forward to 4.30 tomorrow morning and getting back on the streets.

Got a nice blokey and potentially moneysaving project for Saturday - giving the radiators an overhaul, fixing a leaky overflow pipe and trying to cure the master bedroom rad from its evil knocking before the cold sets in and the heating goes on - am proficient enough at such things to know I cannot make it worse, so if my fixes don't work we'll be in no worse a position that we are now, and I will have to get an expert in.

One moneysaving plan for the new year is to do a course on plastering and/or electrics. The Bloater home needs replastering and rewiring - and if I could do that I would not only save myself megabucks but could net a nice little sider in income as they are things people always need doing.

Anyways, with Mrs B and the little 'uns all tucked up asleep it's off to sofa for me with a cup of tea and SkySportsNews to bask like a shark, rather than lay beached like a whale.

Glad you enjoyed the pizza but I'm a bit confused now....... if today was Friday does that mean tomorrow is Sat? :j:j:j Yippee :j:j:j, will crack open the bubbly :j:j:j

What? It's Wednesday tomorrow . Oh :(

Well done on your progress, in all ways. Here's hoping you have an eventful run tomorrow as your tales really make me laugh. Go past the church & see what's occurring ;)
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

'Tis Friday in Valliland tomorrow if that helps as I have a somewhat curtailed working week as per usual.

But I'll be in the Land of Nod while Mr Bloater pounds the pavement - with you in spirit, though, Old Bean;)

Book early - it's a great idea but places are limited, at least round here.

Takeaways... I think it must be the darker evenings, I too am thinking comfort food!

  • It's difficult to attain a Zen-like state when you want to punch pedestrians in the face but despite this setback I have just managed a sodden 4k run and am down to the dizzy depths of 38.69 BMI and a less hefty 22stone 10. Considering last night was blowout night this is doubly satisfying as once again, at the 2.5k mark the brain wanted to stop and the body was starting to collude, what I haven't yet got back into my running is the sweet spot where everything is on autopilot and before you know it you are almost home, but today for some reason the good people of my borough (well two of them) decided not only to go for a walk at 4.50, but to do so on a road with a giant pavement and then when seeing a lumbering ox puffing his way through his own personal demons but moving politely to the other side of the pavement to allow them free passage, decide to move into ox's way then turning a straight stretch of road into a chicane. Maybe they were hoping I would run them over so they could claim compensation or something. Anyway, well pleased with the weight loss and the run, and am going to make this a NSD.
