  • Sometimes moneysaving really sucks. Our pennypinching has destroyed the natural joy of Fridays as we sullenly wait for some pasta to boil before being mixed with that pinnacle of good times - Dolmio sauce. Hoop-de-do. It's like having an extra Wednesday.

Sounds like you need the 22 meal Stew & roast I did last weekend. Proper cooking really is cheaper and tastier than ready made sauces.

I'd second that, I cook much better these days!

Cooking is great but it really doesn't compare to a take away on a Friday night (and Saturday).;)

Could you put a little away each week and then once a month have a take away?

Meanwhile make it a challenge to find new recipes to try over a weekend :o;)

Have to laugh - we just had the Takeaway Secret donner kebab, pitta breads, sauces and all. Mr B - you may remember I suggested it for sausage and egg muffins too.

Doh! Simple mistake made on the banking that'll wipe out one of the musicmagpie cheques on pointless charges - somehow we lost co-ordination of our accounts and whilst I still got enough left mine in, Mrs B wrote a cheque from hers which put her a few quid over her limit - rectified it now but it imagine the bloodsuckers will charge us for it. Has galvanised my resolve to do something I've wanted to do for a long time - get all the direct debits / standing orders coming out of my account on the same day and then use Mrs B's account for paying down debts and general spending. It would save a lot of hassle and make control of things easier so this task will take prioirity over any ebay prep this weekend.
Slept through the running slot this morning but am not overly concerned - weight has gone down a tad to that magic BMI of 38.98. Very chuffed!

We have a'bills' account - mortgage insurance utilities etc all come out of that we feed it by a large SO at beginning of month. CC payments come out of our 2 joint accounts - in reality my OH salary paid into one which he uses and mine into the other which I use. I am working on getting all CC DD payments moved to beginning of month the theory being we will live on what is left - about £2.56 I reckon:rotfl:I am also working on putting all the fuel and food costs on one of these cash back cards recently higlighted on MSE and setting up a DD to pay in full each month .

BMI looking good Mr B :)
