  • Sunk myself into a nice bottle of Soave that was taking up space in the fridge on my return from the speech. Went well, people laughed at the right places, senior management squirmed a bit but with the reaction afterwards I once again have cemented my place as a necessary evil in their organisation. Maybe I could get a part-time job as a toastmaster or something. Bizarrely enough the fat ex-cop who lives directly opposite and spends most of his daytime hanging out with his chickens does this as a job. If he could do it, so could I. Anti-Narnia tonight threw up one great image tonight on the drive home - a bloke in the posh houses cutting his lawn, illminated by the headlights of his Range Rover.
  • Always a good idea to declutter the fridge ;) Well done with the speech too :)

  • I haven't had Soave in years! I really fancy some now.
Glad you had a good day, Mr B.
  • Doh! Simple mistake made on the banking that'll wipe out one of the musicmagpie cheques on pointless charges - somehow we lost co-ordination of our accounts and whilst I still got enough left mine in, Mrs B wrote a cheque from hers which put her a few quid over her limit - rectified it now but it imagine the bloodsuckers will charge us for it. Has galvanised my resolve to do something I've wanted to do for a long time - get all the direct debits / standing orders coming out of my account on the same day and then use Mrs B's account for paying down debts and general spending. It would save a lot of hassle and make control of things easier so this task will take prioirity over any ebay prep this weekend.
Slept through the running slot this morning but am not overly concerned - weight has gone down a tad to that magic BMI of 38.98. Very chuffed!

Pooh on the charges. Still you know about them, are bothered by them and making a plan to minimise that happening again, see what a better place you are in.

Well done on the speech and the BMI.

    Have a great day.

Well done on the speech and the BMI!

If MrsB can bear it, it might be worth appealing to them on the charges, especially as you covered it straight away. Good luck if you do.

Sorry for the hijack - just popped on to say a very cheery OTBC to cptncanary :D

I always get excited when theres another one of "us" in the midst :rotfl:

In fact, it was a fellow Barclay Boy who directed me to MSE and DFW in the first place, all those years ago......*sighs, as she reminisces*

    C'mon you Canaries!!
  • Hi Mr B - I've been following your posts for a while. I have never subscribed or registered with the site before but your thread made me want to - just to say you are inspirational! It's so easy to sit back and judge others for their weight or their debts but not so easy to look at ourselves and judge. I'm really looking forward to staying with you. hello to Mrs B and the little B's.:)
