Mrs B wrote a cheque from hers which put her a few quid over her limit
On a couple of occasions (years apart I might add) I've done this and phoned up and as it's been out-of-character they've let me off;) - worth a try?
Loving the diary.

Sometimes moneysaving really sucks. Our pennypinching has destroyed the natural joy of Fridays as we sullenly wait for some pasta to boil before being mixed with that pinnacle of good times - Dolmio sauce. Hoop-de-do. It's like having an extra Wednesday.
Extra Wednesdays.........bad idea.On Wednesdays I have to pick up all the 'hard to reach' kids in the school and add them to my 'even harder' to reach kids, for parachute games - so no talk of EXTRA WEDNESDAYS please Mr B
Hmmm Dolmio sauce doesnt sound good - are you a dab hand in the kitchen?? Like some have said already cooking from scratch is sooooooo much better. Menu planning, batch cooking - worth try and it does work out cheaper. Pay day takeaways always taste better too! We came to our senses and stopped the boiling. Boiling has no place in our Fridays - the evening when the horrible burden of the week should be lifting. Boiling and Dolmio would just grind us further into the ground and make everything seem worthless.
Luckily the Co-Op had a good 2for1 on pizzas for the kids and Mrs B got her curry and extras for a few quid thanks to another special offer. And Lindeman's Shiraz was half-price. It would have been rude not to.
I know my BMI and total debt will suck in the morning, but rather a sucky Saturday morning than a lame Friday night. Forgive us our trespasses against the MSE doctrine but we Bloaters are mere beginners at this game....2011: 301k in debt and morbidly obese (DFW)

Saturday mornings just wouldn't be the same without a 4k run in the dark. And rain. Must must must research all our various interest rates today - snowballing sounds like an excellent idea, and gives me a fine reason to add another few columns to the Bloater behemoth of a spreadsheet which is the 5th member of the household, sitting there in the corner on the PC glowering at us like a German Shepherd (Dog).2011: 301k in debt and morbidly obese (DFW)

Morning
Takeaway secret book is ace and a bargain too. Good on you for having a night off, hope you enjoyed. Life changes need to be more marathon style than sprint style if the changes are going to be sustainable me thinks.
Enjoy the snowballing, it can be scary and you can feel worse before you feel better so do please be aware of that.
Have a good day.

Mrs B is doing the Bloater cause a big favour, ditched the traditional pastry run and is currently making cinnamon rolls (my daughter's favourite). We're going OS!
Am also going to do a dry week, have noticed I've been consuming a fair few units in the evening and whilst it's under control (stock phrase of anyone for whom it isn't under control), actions speak louder than words. Should also help the weightloss considerably.
Am also considering sneaking into my next door neighbours house and sneaking a crafty RF cable out the back of his Sky box so that I can watch the mighty Brighton who are live on TV twice in a week. That's unheard of for a small team. Otherwise I gotta visit the pub or subscribe to Sky Sports myself and that would undo a lot of good.2011: 301k in debt and morbidly obese (DFW)

Cinnamon rolls! Very yum, your daughter obviously has taste
Its a good idea to have a dry week occasionally - can I suggest tho, that you *substitute* something too - drinking isn't only about taste, honest, its about what you do with your hands, like smoking - so, a home made smoothie (honestly, just a banana, a few canned apricots, some runny honey and milk all whizzed up together, even a stick blender will do it) - would be a positive input.
Good luck with Brighon - with all the big hills you have to run up and down, you live there, don't youI don't live awfully far from there myself ....
