Recorded delivery is not enough proof for paypal to not issue a refund. As firesidemaid says make sure you get proof of posting from PO and then if anyone says they didn't receive it fill in a claim for compensation from them. Yes I am amazed at the inefficency of the Royal Mail at certain times of the year they lost about 10% of my parcels!! Yeah right!

Don't buy to sell anymore as fees etc. just didn't make it economically viable, but the kids now sell things we don't need anymore, welcome boost to setting up in Uni fund and going into town on a Saturday and buying rubbish with friends fund!

in what way is RD not sufficient?
there are issues with RD not tracking but from PPs point of view a tracked RD is the exact same as a tracked SD

The Eb*y scam thing - I have been stung too by buyers claiming item not received - fortunately such buyers are few but they cant half trash your feedback and then get you kicked off Eb*y PERMANENTLY  I send all stuff RD now. Only used SD when I sold some concert tickets and a very expensive camera

  • Another offering advice for selling on Ebay im afraid!

I use the scheduled listings option, it should cost you 6p per listing but heres how to do it for free!.....
List your items as usual but schedule to start at the lastest date possible, usually 30days later i think. By doing this i can "list" just a few things each day, but the listings aren't live yet, there sitting there waiting to go live. I normally wait until a free listing weekend, and BAM on they go for free, no mad panic trying to get it all done in one weekend. If you schedule a listing, but the go back and revise to "start listing now" you do not get charged the 6p for scheduling, and if listing on free listing days you dont get charged to list your item either.

Just remember to go live with the scheduled listings before the actual delayed date, or you will be charged the 6p per listing.

    Good luck!
Oh and since i started sending all my items recorded, i haven't had 1 item not recieved claim.....I fact thats a lie, i had one women tell me her £56 item hadn't arrived, i checked her orders tracking details on RM website, it told me when it was delivered and showed it had been signed for, i sent her the tracking details along with the information i had discovered on the RM website, i never heard from her again

High risk items i use Special delivery, the item i question was a mixing bowl!! also was sent to a very posh address in london, and i had no idea it would sell for anywhere near that amount :D

It was a lesson learnt, not to make assumptions :o

But i take your point :)

posh ones can be the worst ;)
like the woman who came to collect her item
    didnt have ID
threw a strop (she lived a few minutes drive away)
roared out the car park in her big new Range Rover
well i say roared out.she roared right into the gate post
then tried to blame us for stressing her out
she lives in one of the most expensive streets(well not really a street but gated community) in Edinburgh
